From William Fisher at truthout.com:

The scene is a Federal Grand Jury room. There, impaneled ordinary citizens listen intently as a veteran federal prosecutor asks them to return an indictment unique in American history.

The charge is Conspiracy to Defraud the United States. And the defendants are President George W. Bush, Vice President Richard Cheney, outgoing defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and former secretary of state Colin Powell.

Intriguing, huh? The book Mr. Fisher reviews is U.S. v George W. Bush et al , by former prosecutor Elizabeth de la Vega, and you can purchase it here.

I’m taking temporary shelter from outrage overload, escaping in fiction with only a few more pages until I finish The Birth of Venus, by Sarah Dunant. Set in mid-1400s Italy, it is exquisite story and writing of “…the reign of the Medicis, with their love of luxury, learning, and dazzling art, is being threatened by the hellfire preaching and increasing brutality of the fundamentalist monk Savonarola and his reactionary followers…” Highly recommended.
Waiting for me is The Other Boleyn Girl, by Philippa Gregory, set during the reign of Henry VIII.

You?
