TAMPA, Fla., June 25 (UPI) — Authorities in Tampa, Fla., are investigating whether an argument prompted by a game of Yahtzee between two people led to a fatal stabbing.

Tampa police said that 49-year-old Mark Kelvin Allen had been playing Yahtzee with Edith Elliott, 47, this weekend when the two began arguing, the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times said Monday.

Police said the argument on Saturday at Elliott’s home prompted her to seek comfort with her boyfriend, Rueben Barnett, in the locale’s bedroom. After Allen kicked in the bedroom door, authorities told the Times, the two men began fighting until Allen allegedly stabbed the 49-year-old twice in the abdomen.

Barnett was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead later that night.

The Times said Allen was arrested on homicide charges and is being held without bail.
