From NBC12:
ORLANDO, FL (AP) — Florida’s U.S. senators are calling for the Pentagon to remove live bombs and hazardous chemicals near an Orange County school built atop a World War Two-era bombing range. School district administrators say they had no idea that Odyssey Middle School had been built on the bombing range just northeast of Lake Nona.
Officials say live bombs were found on undeveloped land fenced off behind the school.
Democratic Senator Bill Nelson and Republican Senator Mel Martinez say the explosives need to be removed before school’s 1500 students meet their teachers August 13th.
