People smugglers exploiting Iraqi refugees

LYON, France, July 27 Interpol says desperate Iraqi refugees are falling prey to criminals who want to exploit them, the International Herald Tribune said Friday.
About 2 million Iraqis have already abandoned their homeland and an estimated 60,000 more leave each month.
While many have relocated to neighboring countries like Syria, Jordan, Iran, Lebanon and Egypt, the massive influx of exiles is straining the host countries’ resources and services, forcing many to limit the number of Iraqi immigrants they can sustain, Interpol said.
These refugees represent a new market for people smugglers who charge exorbitant prices to help them escape Iraq where the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has said violence claims an average of 100 lives a day.
Since January, Interpol has identified about 10 criminal gangs charging thousands of dollars to take Iraqis illegally across borders.
Legal migration for Iraqis is not always possible because it is so hard for them to obtain valid travel documents.

Refugees camps around the wold.
The are growing, the poverty is growing and the powerful are expanding the world in their own profits and control of the world oil, gold, water, food, metals, lands, oceans, and so on.
The poverty of this wars is going to leave the whole world in more sinking misery and poverty.

QG, Bush sleeps happy, his money $$$$$$ is growing with his selling arms, and wars.
Lockhead Martin, Boeing, Dyncoorp, the British contractors, the American Contractos and the Israeli contractors are making mega billions.
The ones can not sleep is the billions of taxpayers, how to pay bills, oil, gas, food, educations, future, etc.
Bush may sleep like a baby…. we are living a time that the whole world is loosing jobs, industries, the dollar down put the international reserves of billions of people down, the oil price can hit 80. 100 per barrel.
But Bush and KI$$$$$$$$$inger me do deals of Arms with Saudi Arabia, before China, Rusia or someone else sell more arms to the SAUDIS.
Condolezza Rice is preparing a good trip to Saudi Arabia in behalf of Bush.

Chevron profit hits $5.4 billion

Chevron Corp. said Friday that it rang up a record quarterly profit of $5.4 billion, primarily thanks to soaring gasoline prices and gains from an investment sale.
The oil giant’s net income for the second quarter that ended June 30, equal to $2.52 a share, was up 24% from the $4.4 billion, or $1.97 a share, it earned in the year-earlier period.
With those results, Chevron set a new high for quarterly earnings, surpassing the $5 billion it earned in the third quarter of 2006. The San Ramon, Calif.-based company is on pace to beat last year’s record annual income of $17.1 billion.
Friday’s report capped another week of strong earnings from the world’s biggest publicly owned oil companies, even though the lack of one-time items caused profit at Exxon Mobil Corp. to come in lower than in the second quarter of 2006.
