Twenty six U.S. troops have been killed in Iraq in the past week alone. I guess Bush was correct about it being a “bloody August.” Figures the one thing he’d get right would be something involving blood and death. U.S. troops levels are at an all time high with overlapping unit rotations. Oh goody say the insurgents……more targets! The Danes have left Iraq (smart people). The Saudis are going to Iraq next week to make arrangements to reopen their embassy there. Turkey is piling on the pressure for Iraq to handle the Kurds and stop the raids in Turkish territory. Meanwhile, Iraq’s power system is near collapse and water in Baghdad has been cut off for days at a time. I’m sure this makes for happy Iraqis! And now that we’ve gone in there and fucked up the country beyond comprehension, we’re telling the Iraqis…..fix it yourself. I’m sure this will make them real happy, too. And to think there’s still people out there besides Bush, Cheney and Barney the dog who think people will look back on history and think his decision to pre-emptively strike this country was a good idea! Riiigggghhhhtttt.
