Yoo and Addington are supposedly intelligent, but their legal moves (urged on by Cheney) were obviously unconstitutional to anyone who's had a decent high school education, let alone a law degree.  In Yoo's case, I think he may be delusional, while Addington is a power-hungry authoritarian.  Addington and Cheney certainly knew what they were doing was illegal and would face opposition.  Why else issue a "secret" torture memo that your own Secretary of State and National Security Advisor only learn of two years later by reading &lt;i&gt;The Washington Post&lt;/i&gt;?!?</description>
