Anyone who has read this blog long enough knows I have a thang for aviation. It’s nice to read a nice story…..especially if it involves airplanes.
Kody and Tyler Plarske knew that whatever their grandmother Barb Sauve had planned for their Saturday morning, it would be an adventure. But even they were surprised when she pulled into the Experimental Aircraft Aviation Building parking lot and told them that they were going to be a part of the Young Eagles flying program.
She must have conspired with the weather gods. Beyond the Ormand Barstow Hangar, at the Midland airport named for his kid brother, Jack, the blue Midwestern sky that has lured many of America’s elite pilot and astronaut corps beckoned again Saturday morning, ready to welcome a future Wright, Lindbergh, Earhart, Glenn or Armstrong.
Shortly after 9 a.m., they began to arrive. Accompanied, like the Plarskes, by parents or grandparents (most of whom would only get to stand and watch the fun) the youngsters ages 8-18 would take off as civilians and return, 15 minutes later, as Young Eagles.
The Young Eagles program, held monthly at Midland’s Jack Barstow Airport, is part of the national effort run by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), which is headquartered in Oshkosh, WI.
“Originally, EAA was designed to support home builders, people who build and fly their own airplanes. Today it surrounds many different avenues of aviation, including general aviation and antique aircraft,” said David Schmelzer, Young Eagles progam coordinator at Barstow.
“To interest young people in aviation, the EAA came up with the Young Eagles program. The program is designed to give a young person between the ages of 8 and 18 an airplane ride in a small general aviation airplane,” Schmelzer said. “A lot of times that sparks an interest. They might go on and work for the airlines. Some of them have joined the flying branches of the military.”

Larry Craig has nothing on this guy. Rev. Gary Aldridge was discovered asphyxiated in his home, hogtied and dressed in two rubber diving suits on June 24th. They went looking for him when he didn’t show up to church on a weekend when his wife was out of town. While the cat’s away the perverts will play. This death reminds me of the death of millionaire Edouard Stern, who was found dead in Switzerland, his body covered from head to toe in latex, a dildo in his ass and 4 bullets in his body.
In the case of the Rev, he was found with, in the words of the coroner:
The decendent is clothed in a diving wet suit, a face mask which has a single vent for breathing, a rubberized head mask having an opening for the mouth and eyes, a second rubberized suit with suspenders, rubberized male underwear, hands and feet have diving gloves and slippers. There are numerous straps and cords restraining the decedent. There is a leather belt around the midriff. There is a series of ligatures extending from the hands to the feet. The hands are bound behind the back. The feet are tied to the hands. There are nylon ligatures holding these in place with leather straps about the wrists and ankles. There are plastic cords also tied about the hands and feet with a single plastic cord extending up to the head and surrounding the lower neck. There is a dildo in the anus covered with a condom.
Talk about a rubber fetish. The police say there was no foul play and the Rev. was by himself when he died. Ok…..how do you tie yourself up like that without any help? Just askin……..
I wonder if he learned this in a class at Liberty University?
Another hypocritical Christian rightwing nutcase. I wonder if he got off before he died. I sure hope so……that’s alot of work to go through and have no payoff.

Whether it be a bathroom stall or the hall of fame, when you’re a republican, it’s all good.
Embattled Craig honored at Idaho Hall of Fame
First appearance in state since lawmaker’s bathroom bust became public
BOISE, Idaho - Senator Larry Craig has been named to the Idaho Hall of Fame, marking his first ceremonial appearance in his home state since his bathroom bust became public in August.
The state’s senior GOP lawmaker received polite applause and a few encouraging hoots when he was introduced at the Boise convention center.
He told other nominees attending the dinner he hoped the attention brought to him did not not lessen the honor they received.
Craig was chosen for induction last spring well before his arrest.
Craig entered the Boise convention center through its front doors, accompanied by family members including his wife and mother. They walked through a crowd of about a dozen photographers, TV cameras and reporters.
In response to a question Craig said he’s “doing very well,” adding, “I’ve got my whole family with me.”

Is passing this resolution worth putting our troops in even GREATER harm’s way? I don’t think so. Is it so imperative to pass legislation today on an event that occured in 1917? If so, somebody tell me why.
About 70 percent of U.S. air cargo headed for Iraq goes through Turkey as does about one-third of the fuel used by the U.S. military there. U.S. bases also get water and other supplies carried in overland by Turkish truckers who cross into Iraq’s northern Kurdish region.
In addition, C-17 cargo planes fly military supplies to U.S. soldiers in remote areas of Iraq from Incirlik, avoiding the use of Iraqi roads vulnerable to bomb attacks. U.S. officials say the arrangement helps reduce American casualties.

Hialeah, one of the reddest cities in America.
From the Miami Herald:
Live in Hialeah? Like oral sex? Then one Hialeah City Council candidate thinks he’s the one who deserves your vote.
As election season intensifies in the City of Progress, incumbent Jose ”Pepe” Caragol, known for dishing out rhyming one-liners at city events, is catching criticism for a slogan he has been pitching on Spanish television.
“Si te gusta el sexo oral, vote por Caragol por consejal,” Caragol said on a March 14 taping of the America Te-Ve show Seguro Que Yes! and in subsequent radio and television appearances.
The phrase, which rhymes in Spanish, translates as, “If you like oral sex, vote Caragol for council.”
Caragol, 76, who has served on the council since easily defeating three other candidates in a 2005 special election, makes no qualms about the statement, chalking it up to his “humorous personality.”
