Rudy Giuliani, Tough Guy

      Buck     October 17th, 2007 - 8:54 am

Tough talk from a man that’s never seen a day of military service.

Ms Rudy Giuliani

Rudy, I say this most respectfully to you, you-re no Ronald Reagan either! You’re not even presidential material. You’ve flip-flopped on so many key issues since being Mayor of New York, many are confused on where you really stand. Hell, many are confused on your gender identification!

WASHINGTON - “I didn-t call for a team of lawyers,” Rudy Giuliani wryly told a meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition in Washington Tuesday morning.

Giuliani also mocked former president Jimmy Carter, for his handling of the Iranian hostage crisis of 1980-1981.

He ridiculed the entire field of Democratic presidential contenders, for not using the term “Islamic terrorists” because “they think it is politically incorrect.”

And he mocked Sen. Barack Obama, for saying that as president he-d meet without preconditions with envoys from Iran, Venezuela, and other foes of the United States.

As if lecturing the absent Obama, Giuliani explained that Reagan had deployed a new generation of offensive missiles in Europe before being willing to negotiate with Soviet leaders.

“I say this most respectfully, you-re not Ronald Reagan,” Giuliani told Obama.

SEND IN THE CLOWNS!

GOP presidential contenders
Republican presidential hopefuls Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, former Sen. Fred Thompson, R-Tenn., former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., Sen. Sam Brownback R-Kan., and Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo. are seen at Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, in Dearborn, Mich., on Tues., Oct. 9.

So, the subject of global warming is finally gaining some traction from within the republican camp. Does anyone know precisely when rightwing journalists, newscasters, pundits and trolls are to change their tune on this also? Yeah, right!

Global warming starts to split GOP contenders

Candidates divided over policy solutions, but most recognize the threat

While many conservative commentators and editorialists have mocked concerns about climate change, a different reality is emerging among Republican presidential contenders. It is a near-unanimous recognition among the leaders of the threat posed by global warming.

Within that camp, however, sharp divisions are developing. Senator John McCain of Arizona is calling for capping gas emissions linked to warming and higher fuel economy standards. Others, including Rudolph W. Giuliani and Mitt Romney, are refraining from advocating such limits and are instead emphasizing a push toward clean coal and other alternative energy sources.

All agree that nuclear power should be greatly expanded.
