Yet the republicans are clearly still in the race for president. If for nothing else this administration has done in it’s seven years in power, what kind of sick, twisted mind could vote for a party that spends billions upon billions in this illegal, immoral war, but tell it’s sick children no?
How did we get here? Stupidity and ignorance. We have no one to blame but ourselves. They talk about Bush’s and Congress’s low polling numbers. What about ours? Where do we, the American populace, poll out at? I guaran-damn-tee it’s not in the double-digits!
Part of the process? Leaving congress out of your plans is acceptable though, right? Of course it is! Can’t stomp the guts out of the Constitution if they were allowed to have any true say in it. You are one smug bastard, sir.
Overriding Child Health Veto Unlikely
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Bush, anticipating that his veto of a $35 billion spending increase for children’s insurance will stand, has assigned three top advisers to try to negotiate a new deal with Congress.
Democrats appeared about 15 votes short in the House heading into Thursday’s attempt to override Bush’s veto of their $35 billion spending increase for the program.
The president said his veto gives him a chance to weigh in on the future of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.
“Sometimes the legislative branch wants to go on without the president, pass pieces of legislation and the president can then use the veto to make sure he’s a part of the process,” Bush said.

You know what’s sick? Mr. and Mrs. NASCAR will watch as their daughter suffers through some illness, unable to see a doctor, and will blame the democrats for it (cause Rush told them to)…
…and they’ll go out and vote republican in the next election cycle.

Ah, yes, more lies from the Democrats - the Party of Perjury. This “expansion” that the Democrats wanted was to make taxpayers pay for the health insurance of people making up to $ 83,000 a year, and to give boatloads more of taxpayer’s money to states that already use over half the SCHIP funds they get for ADULTS. It’s not about poor children at all.
But hate and lies against Bush and the Republicans can’t be based on facts, can they. Especially from the Hate America First crowd.

I don’t know how effective it will be, but I’m going to design some flyers which show how voting against SCHIP screwed over the American public so Bush could blow more money in Iraq. And start sticking them in magazines and such at doctors offices and other places that I can think of. There’s not much else to do here in Lubbock, Tx to change perceptions on a little budget. We need to keep re-iterating that Republicans are the Party of the Super-rich and thats it. They are funnelling their money to China and Saudi Arabia while American manufacturing goes Bust. This IS THE FAULT OF THE REPUBLICANS and the big business corporatists. Somehow we need to make middle Americans who are currently linked with the Republican party understand that the Democratic party IS The party of the common man, American small business, and true security.

Oh god, Did Bajalollygagger forget to badmouth the Frost family on his way out? Hate America? Your party just took Millions AWAY From Children who needed it. Do you love America enough to help give its children some medical aid? I don’t qualify for Medicaid. I used to qualify for Texas Chip before they decided they needed that money to give millionaires a tax break.
Whats more important? American Children or American Millionaires? Baja can run his rhetoric back and forth, but thats what it comes down to. The millionaires who run America can flush Billions down the toilet in Iraq but they cant fund a measley SCHIP program because they can’t afford to Let Americans know that Federally funded Healthcare WORKS.
The deaths of American children are on YOUR PARTY’S HEAD- and on YOUR HEAD, Baja.
All because you didn’t want to spend money saving lives while you throw it away endlessly in Iraq.

Never let GOP talking points get in the way of the facts! More conservative projection. From a USA Today editorial, of all places:
Defending his veto of a plan to expand the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), one of President Bush’s most effective lines has been that the measure would extend benefits to families earning as much as $83,000 a year.
That makes a program designed for low-income kids sound like another outrageous Washington boondoggle.
But with the House planning to vote Thursday on overriding the president’s veto  SCHIP supporters need to pick up about two dozen votes  it’s worth pointing out that Bush’s claim is misleading at best, simply wrong at worst.
For one thing, New York is the only state that has asked for federal permission to grant SCHIP coverage to some families that make up to four times the national poverty level ($20,650 for a family of four). No other state has SCHIP coverage that high, and nothing in the bill mandates it. So the $83,000 question isn’t even relevant for now in the other 49 states. . . .
The president’s charge is a misleading way to demonize a bill that, while not perfect, would increase health coverage for kids who need it, and pay for it with a cigarette-tax increase. The House would do well to look past the president’s deceptive rhetoric and override his veto.
