There have been 23 U.S. deaths in Iraq so far this month.
A private security firm, CTU of North Carolina, is asking a Utah court to throw out a lawsuit brought by the families of two contrators who died in Iraq. CTU asserts that this court lacks jurisdiction to hear the case. The company also claims the contractors didn’t work for them, but for a non-affiliated company not based in the United States. Funny thing……the Mother of one of the men has bank statements with deposits from CTU, the men are listed as “fallen commrades” on the CTU website, and the company promised families that the men had life insurance through the company……but then the policies never materialized. Sickening…….
Thousands of high school students across the country walked out of school yesterday in protest of the war in Iraq. I didn’t listen to the news last night, so didn’t hear anything about it, but I doubt if it were covered anyway.
The Justice department is investigating the soaring costs of the U.S. embassy in Iraq. The investigation is looking into state department officials involved with the U.S. embassy. Another investigation that’s going nowhere?
81% of Turks believe Turkey should conduct a cross-border military operation against militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), up from 46% in July.
The defense department says it is puzzled by the drop in explosions in Iraq with Iranian made weapons. (has it ever been proven they are Iranian made weapons?) Maybe what really puzzles them is that Iran is living up to its promise to Al-Maliki to stop the flow of weapons into the country. Lying liars that this administration is, someone saying something that’s actually true and sticking by it is novel to them!
Poland will end its mission in Iraq next year, withdrawing its 900 soldiers.
