Buck November 5th, 2007 - 4:57 pmThe case against Brent Wilkes, accused of “plying former congressman Randy “Duke” Cunningham with expensive meals, trips and mortgage payments in exchange for lucrative defense contracts“, is drawing to an end. The jury have reached a verdict and their decision is to be heard soon by Judge Larry A. Burns.
Wilkes is charged with 13 felonies, including bribery and money laundering.
UPDATE
A U.S. District Court jury has convicted Brent Wilkes on all 13 counts in his corruption trial.

His attorney, Mark Geragos, said he and Wilkes were shocked.
“I don’t believe this case was proved beyond a reasonable doubt,” Geragos said outside court. “Obviously I’m very disappointed. I think he shares the confidence that we’ll get it reversed.”
Seeing as how they’re republicans, I can understand the shock and awe of being held accountable of a crime.
It’s such a rare occurrence.

Sometimes the system works, no thanks to the Republicans!
As for “rare occurences,” that’s why my dad said Watergate was so great - a corrupt politician actually got caught!

True that Buck. Put him in a prison cell next to Cunningham and Abramoff so they all can share with each other how shocked they are about being there. Some group therapy may help.
