(I posted this at VS back on Thursday, but am posting it here today due to travel and a sloooow dial-up connection.) It’s one of the chief reasons I love the internets, but the liberal blogosphere in particular. I can read a piece such as “The atheist delusion” in Salon, get annoyed by John Haught’s straw man arguments, and feel the urge to rebut them - but then I’ll find someone else, in this case Brian at Incertus, has already done so. It’s a really sharp (and quick) dissection. Check it out. As he concludes:
I don’t anticipate this will ever happen again, but we may need to rely on technology to save our savior.
-Dina Cellini, overseer of the Bal Harbour, Fla., nativity display
Why go hi-tech? Get all “fire and brimstone” on their asses! Two armed Pinkerton guards standing either side of the display would solve the problem. Or, better yet, surround the nativity scene with hidden bear traps! Any would-be Jesus thieves would instantly get their legs snapped off. Does sound a little too harsh though, I suppose. Maybe leave a plate of arsenic-laced cookies nearby? After all, we must ask ourselves “What Would Jesus Do?”
Chip Reid, a reporter with CBS is travelling with the Edwards campaign, wrote this piece about Edwards. He states Edwards doesn’t give him much news to write about……news being any mistakes or missteps Edwards may make. It’s so very clear that the big boys don’t want Edwards to be our next President. The lack of coverage on him is not just because he doesn’t make mistakes, but because he truly wants to fight the big boys and take this country back. I so hope he wins. He has a remarkable ability to stay on message. Not just in “the speech,” but even in Q and A. Nothing throws him off. He turns nearly every question into another opportunity to repeat his central theme. Global warming? We need to fight big oil. Health care? Fight the big drug and insurance companies. Iowa farmers- problems? Blame those monster farm conglomerates. And the Iowa populists eat it up. We’ll see how well it works in other states.
He’s even disciplined in his daily routine. While most reporters use the campaign trail as an excuse to over-eat and abandon their exercise routines, Edwards squeezes in a run EVERY DAY, rain, sleet, or shine. Full article here
