Complacent Idiocy
by Buck
America in distress
The strategy is to lay low and then blame [democrats] for not getting anything done. The truth is, we all lose. We trash each other and end up making the institution look bad. That’s why Congress‘ approval ratings are so low.

-Republican Rep. Ray LaHood of Illinois

Congrats to you and your fellow republicans, Mr. LaHood. Your plan is working flawlessly. We (middle-class and poor) Americans appreciate your efforts to legislate us right into slavery.

I say slavery because that’s what it amounts to in the end. By installing conservative judges to the bench, you intentionally erode our civil rights. By giving businesses favorable nods, you intentionally empower them to ride roughshod over their employees. By throwing away billions upon billions into illegal wars and to help build up an already massive military complex, you deplete the national coffers and starve programs aimed at helping the poor and elderly. Veterans who have fought bravely to defend this country suffer under your republican policies, Mr. LaHood. Do you not care?

Don’t bother, Mr. LaHood. I already know your answer. It depends on which side of the camera you happen to be standing at the time. I would like to think the American people will one day soon rise up and ‘revolt’ your republican-values ass right out onto the street. But, in a country of complacent idiocy, that may never happen.
