There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq in January. In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the month of January. That’s just one American city, about as deadly as the entire war-torn country of Iraq .

Rodriguez Seeks Immunity
by QuestionGirl

From the Associated Press:

Attorneys for Jose Rodriguez told Congress that the former CIA official won’t testify about the destruction of CIA videotapes without a promise of immunity, a person close to the tapes inquiry said Wednesday.

Rodriguez, the former head of the CIA’s National Clandestine Service, ordered the tapes destroyed in 2005. Rodriguez was scheduled to testify before the House Intelligence Committee at a Jan. 16 hearing.

NEWS.gifNot heard on the MSM here in America, whistleblower Sibel Edmonds allegations concerning highly-placed, well-known U.S. officials in the Departments of State and Defense involved in an illicit, for-profit scheme to develop and protect a network of spies, who then stole and sold American nuclear secrets to the international black markets via Turkey, Israel and Pakistan are covered at Bradblog.

Again at Bradblog, questions regarding the pre election poll numbers.

Biding Their Time

Darren, you’re being played…

Soldier: Policy on Gays May Be Shifting

WASHINGTON (AP) — Even if no one is asking, Army Sgt. Darren Manzella has been telling anyone who’ll listen that he’s gay - without serious retribution so far from the military. Manzella, a medic who served in Iraq and Kuwait, has acknowledged his sexual orientation in national media interviews and again on Tuesday in a Washington news conference.

“This is who I am. This is my life,” said Manzella, who received a combat medical badge for his service in Iraq. “It has never affected my job performance before. I don’t think it will make a difference now. And to be honest since then, I don’t see a difference because of my homosexuality.”
[...]

“This particular soldier’s unit only recently returned from the war to Fort Hood, Texas, so it’s premature to speculate on any future actions until the young man’s situation can be considered by his chain of command,” [Paul Boyce Jr., an Army spokesman] said in a statement.

Darren Manzella is being delusional if he thinks the Army has had a change of heart. Just take a quick glance inside the walls of Walter Reed, or pay a little more attention to who it is that makes up the majority of the homeless on your street, and you’ll get a good idea of what the army thinks of it’s veterans - once they’ve outlived their usefulness. And they (for the most part anyways) are not gay!

They need him. They’re using him. And soon, they’ll chew him up and spit him out.

Today’s word: ‘Provocative’
by Buck

Iranian TV: Pentagon Video, Audio Fake

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran accused the United States on Wednesday of fabricating video and audio released by the Pentagon showing Iranian boats confronting U.S. warships in the Persian Gulf.

The video from Sunday’s incident shows small Iranian boats swarming around U.S. warships in the Strait of Hormuz. In the recording, a man speaking in heavily accented English threatened, “I am coming to you. … You will explode after … minutes.”

“The footage released by the U.S. Navy was compiled using file pictures and the audio has been fabricated,” an official in Iran’s Revolutionary Guards was quoted as saying by the state-run English-language channel Press TV.
[...]

The Bush administration continued to denounce the Gulf confrontation as “provocative.”

“This is a provocative act - not a smart thing to do, and they are going to have to take responsibility for the consequences, if they do it again,” National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley told reporters aboard Air Force One as President Bush flew from Washington to Israel.

Who’s telling the truth? Hard to say. When you get to the point that you question the honesty and integrity of any and all things Bushco, that’s pretty sad. But I will extend those doubts to the Iranian government too.

But a little food for thought; When you have (Bush-controlled) warships patrolling waters just off your coast, with their big guns pointed at your cities, who really is being the provocateur here?
