It’s The Economy, Stupid!
Buck January 30th, 2008 - 10:49 amThe issue of economics is not something I’ve understood as well as I should.
-2008 presidential contender, John McCain
And this from the AP:
The economy nearly stalled in the fourth quarter with a growth rate of just 0.6 percent, capping its worst year since 2002.
The Commerce Department’s report on the gross domestic product, released Wednesday, showed an economy that had deteriorated considerably during the October-to-December quarter as worsening problems in the housing market and harder-to-get credit made individuals and businesses more cautious in their spending. Fears of a recession have grown.
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s official.. Stupidity permeates our electorate.

Good one, Bat! There was a link there back to TPM, which showed two instances where McCain admitted ignorance towards economics.
And now denying it all.
Could you imagine how difficult (and fun) it would be to vote in an election where the nominees were capable and honest?

I haven’t seen it in my lifetime, and doubt I will.
Of course, considering most conservative policies screw over the majority of the populace, that’s not surprising. Meanwhile, most of the Beltway and much of the Dem leadership is embarrassed by actual liberalism.
Still, this is an important angle for us to keep hitting, should McCain be the GOP nominee.
