Let me get this straight. Mike Huckabee, up until a few weeks ago, was riding high in the Iowa polls. Mitt Romney answered this by placing a few ‘negative’ ads that featured some of Huckabee’s worst moments as Governor of Arkansas. Seeing his momentum fading, Huckabee then decided to run his own ($30,000 worth) negative ad on Romney… but decided against it at the last minute. Our good-hearted presidential contender had an epiphany… a “sudden aversion to negative politics.” (Iowans HATE negative ads!)
And he calls a news conference to state as much.
By doing this, Huckabee attempts to kill two birds with one stone. Not only does he make himself out as one who takes the high road, he also makes public the contents of his anti-Romney, negative ad. But the whole thing kinda backfired on him.
(I wonder if he got to keep that $30,000?)
