Sunday Talk Show Roundup…….it’s all about Florida and Michigan.
CBS’s “Face the Nation” hosts Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean during one of his two Sunday stops. Sens. John F. Kerry (D-Mass) and Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) also appear, along with Democratic strategist Joe Trippi and Republican strategist Ed Rollins, who was chairman of the recently ended Mike Huckabee campaign.
“Fox News Sunday” leads with the war in Iraq - how it’s affected the presidential campaign and whether the surge there is working - with Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.), just back from the region.
Guest host Brit Hume also interviews Democratic superdelegates Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida and Debbie Dingell, wife of Rep. John Dingell of Michigan.
On NBC’s “Meet the Press,” host Tim Russert interviews Democratic Gov. Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania, who has become one of New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s most important allies in the wake of her victories in Ohio and Texas, and former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.), who supports Clinton’s rival, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama. Russert also leads a roundtable with The Washington Post’s Dan Balz, Atlantic Media’s Ron Brownstein, The New York Times- John Harwood and PBS’s Gwen Ifill.
On his other stop Sunday, Dean joins Republican Gov. Charlie Crist of Florida and Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.) on ABC’s “This Week.”
On CNN’s “Late Edition,” host Wolf Blitzer discusses the State of Black America with Marc Morial, president and CEO of the National Urban League.
Blitzer also talks presidential politics with Sens. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) and Robert P. Casey Jr. (D-Pa.). And he interviews Garry Kasparov, the Russian chess champion and former presidential candidate, about the recent presidential election in Russia.
On Bloomberg’s “Political Capital,” Al Hunt interviews two of the all-important Pennsylvania Democratic superdelegates, Reps. Allyson Schwartz and Patrick Murphy.
On C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers,” Kenneth Wainstein, assistant attorney general for national security, is interviewed by reporters Eric Lichtblau of The New York Times and Tim Starks of Congressional Quarterly.
