Yet More Enabling From the Dems
Looks like the telecom companies will be granted their immunity afterall and the FISA bill will pass. Like we didn’t know this would happen after much lip service. Same ole same ole.
From the Washinton Post:
“This is not amnesty,” Wainstein said at the meeting. “This is targeted immunity” for companies who meet requirements specified in the Senate bill that include having received an attorney general’s certification that their assistance was determined to be lawful.
Soooooooo if the law breaking attorney general says it’s ok to break the law, that makes it lawful.
Glenn Greenwald’s take on the issue:
This is, of course, everything except surprising. No rational person who has watched Congressional Democrats since they took over Congress could possibly have expected them to do anything but what they always do: namely, whatever they’re told to do by the White House. The last thing they were ever going to do was stand their ground over Americans’ basic liberties and the rule of law, concepts about which they couldn’t possibly care less.

More wasted phone calls, letters, petitions. Why do we bother?
