More religious crazies…….
Two children and their mother lived for about two months with the decaying body of a 90-year-old woman on the toilet of their home’s only bathroom, on the advice of a religious “superior” who claimed the corpse would come back to life, authorities said Friday.
The children - a 15-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy - cried hysterically Wednesday after a deputy who came to their Necedah home looking for Magdeline Alvina Middlesworth ordered them out because of the stench from her body.
The children were in foster care Friday. Their mother, Tammy Lewis, and self-described “bishop” Alan Bushey remained in custody on felony counts of being a party to causing mental harm to a child.

The uncaring, callous attitude of this administration is unfuckingbelievable. Just when I think Ive heard the worst thing I could possibly hear, they do something even more unfuckingbelievable. At least a soldier at the Pentagon had the good sense to inform them of this. But WTF….. why wouldn’t they know this. I think they DID know it and it was ok until this guy brought it up.
The U.S. military will no longer cremate troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan at a Dover facility that also cremates pets, the Pentagon announced Friday evening at a hastily planned new conference.
Geoff Morrell, a Pentagon spokesman, said there was “no evidence whatsoever that any human remains were mistreated” or that any troops were cremated at the facility designated for pets.
Instead, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates made the decision Friday after a soldier who works at the Pentagon informed the department that a crematory contracted by the department also incinerated animals.
Morrell called the practice “insensitive and entirely inappropriate for the dignified treatment of our fallen.”

John Cole, of Balloon-Juice, posts about how people may be wising up to our “gimmicky” government.
Maybe after the rejection of the gas tax gimmick and the clear signal from voters that they know this “stimulus package” will do nothing but blow more money, the era of gimmick government may finally be coming to an end. I am not sure what is bringing about this change, maybe it is the fact that gas prices are hitting so hard and that people are in such dire straits that they know the usual bullshit will not work, but this is a positive thing. We can’t solve all these problems if all we do are play games with them. It looks like the American public is finally seeing through the BS and is tired of it.
We certainly could use a more sane and intelligent populace!
Barack is too kind. I would have called John McCain FUCKING NUTS!
Obama accuses McCain of ‘losing his bearings’
NEW YORK (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Thursday that Republican John McCain was “losing his bearings” for repeatedly suggesting the Islamic terrorist group Hamas preferred Obama for president.
That brought an angry response from McCain’s campaign, which accused Obama of trying to make an issue of McCain’s age.
Age is a touchy subject for McCain, who turns 72 in August and would be the oldest person to be sworn in as president if elected.
Seems every day there’s a whole new excuse for gas prices to rise.
Gas jumps above $3.67, oil passes $126 on Venezuela concerns
NEW YORK (AP) — Oil rose above $126 a barrel for the first time Friday, bringing its advance this week to nearly $10, as investors questioned whether a possible confrontation between the U.S. and Venezuela could cut exports from the OPEC member. Gas prices, meanwhile, rose above an average $3.67 a gallon at the pump, following oil’s recent path higher.
On Friday, The Wall Street Journal published a report that suggested closer ties between Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and rebels attempting to overthrow Colombia’s government. Chavez has been linked to Colombian rebels previously, but the paper reported it had reviewed computer files indicating concrete offers by Venezuela’s leader to arm guerillas. That appears to heighten the chances that the U.S. could impose sanctions on one of its biggest oil suppliers.
“If we put on sanctions, I’m sure Chavez would threaten to cut off our oil supply,” said Phil Flynn, an analyst at Alaron Trading Corp. “Obviously that would have a major impact on oil prices.”
