C’mon Baby Light My Fire

Last time I danced on a bar was at a Pool and Spa operator’s conference in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin about 7 years ago. (hey, I get around!) I didn’t start the place on fire, but I did receive two job offers at universities, post conference, from men who were at the conference. Needless to say, I didn’t end up working at either of those universities and now sit in Miami blogging. ;-)

From the Sun Sentinel:

A woman dancing on a bar accidentally set a man on fire early Sunday after noticing her foot was in flames, Miami-Dade Fire-Rescue said.

The woman, described as in her 20s, was at Drake’s Bar in Kendall when she agreed to help out with a display involving liquor and fire, authorities said. According to Fire Rescue, she hopped on the bar, started dancing, then realized her foot was engulfed in flames.

She reacted by accidentally kicking the flaming mixture into a passer-by, Fire-Rescue said.

Paramedics arrived at the bar, 13758 SW 88th St., about 2 a.m. The man suffered burns to about 20 percent of his upper body, authorities said. Paramedics took him to Ryder Trauma Center’s burn unit. The woman was taken to a hospital.

As for you, Question Girl, a woman with a brain and a penchant for dancing on bar tops? What can I say - I want you so bad it hurts. ;-)

As for the unfortunate soul who suffered burns, I hope he fully recovers - burns can be a seriously disfiguring occurance.

DK….. I wish a full recovery to the guy, also. 20% of his body was burned. That’s quite a burn. Next time you see a woman dancing on a bar, beware!

Yes, I read those stats in the article.
Actually, there were two women dancing on a bar top a few months ago. Unfortunately, they were also brain dead - so I know neither of them were you. Additionally, this was in GA. I don’t hang about where dangerous chemicals and alcohol are mixed. But here is a potential story for ya:
GA House Bill 89 was signed into law by Gov. Perdue, making it legal to carry firearms into restaurants, public transportation, public parks, and bars. What a state… of idiots.

  4. QuestionGirl Says:

I’m not sure which state has more idiots in it, Florida or Georgia. Here in Florida it’s guns and bibles on the books.

Guns in bars. Hey now, that’s brilliant! Geezzzz!

I think many have watched too many old John Wayne westerns, and are trying to recreate the nostalgia of the Wild, Wild West. Or perhaps this is the final blow to the the faltering Atlanta night scene tendered by our corporate overlords. Stay at home, lock your doors, be afraid, and shop, shop, shop. But Wal-Mart and the local Mall is still a safe haven, ya know. Oy Vey!

I heard about this yesterday. It sounds like she basically accidentally launched a Molotov cocktail at the guy. I hope he’s all right.
