Iran remains the much vilified, yet remarkably well behaved cornerstone of Democracy in the area. We've been tampering in their internal affairs for over 50 years, much to the chagrin of its fed-up citizenry. Even during the much touted "hostage crisis", which was brought about -- again -- by our meddling in their internal politics, their behaviour was remarkably civil. All things considered, far more civil than WE would have behaved. Our adminstrations do not want to build democracies in the Middle East, we want kowtowing puppet dictatorships. Religious fanaticism?
