Group protests at Cobb bar, calling Obama T’shirts racist

Marietta tavern owner Mike Norman says the T’shirts he’s peddling, featuring cartoon chimp Curious George peeling a banana, with “Obama in ‘08” scrolled underneath, are “cute.” But to a coalition of critics, the shirts are an insulting exploitation of racial stereotypes from generations past.

“It’s time to put an end to this,” said Rich Pellegrino, a Mableton resident and director of the Cobb-Cherokee Immigrant Alliance. He was among about 15 people who protested outside Mulligan’s Bar and Grill Tuesday afternoon against the sale of the “racist and highly offensive” shirts.

“There’s no place for these views, not in this day and age,” he said.

Republicans have such dark hearts. There’s a special hell awaiting them.

If you will notice these attacks always come from a position of supposed safety. Never from the front ranks. Always sniping.

  2. QuestionGirl Says:

    Morons.

  3. Dr. Know Says:

I currently live in the white trash backwater known as Cobb County, GA. This is typical.

  4. QG Says:

Such beautiful country with such ugly ideas Dr. Know.

You’re free to take your elitist ideals (and kids) to the lovely city of Atlanta home of liberals, the worst schools in the state, liberals, the highest local taxes in the state, liberals, the highest crime in the state, liberals, the highest level of gov’t assistance in the state and hordes of your fellow Democrats.

Then again, there are already too many two bit ambulance chasers in residence of that vicinity, aren’t there?

Come on, follow your rhetoric & move your liberal household to the friendly confines of downtown Atlanta, with your fellow libs, and stop riding on the backs of nearby Republican houseowners who are maintaining your equity.

    Typical liberal leech.

    Typical racist, bigoted republican fuckhead.

  7. Buck Says:

See? If we liberals try really hard, we can be just as asshole-ish as you dirty racist conservatives.

  8. Batocchio Says:

Ya know, the funniest part of no’s rant is that conservatives states overwhelmingly get the most federal tax dollars. And duh, of course the biggest city in Georgia has the highest local taxes! Quite a bit of code in that rant, too, huh?

  9. Batocchio Says:

And I had actually picked this story for MBR before you posted this. Hehe.

You are the typical Cobb idiot, not even worthy of a response - but I’ll do so anyway. Atlanta used to be a great place - before the GOP and its corporate cronies took over, Mr. NeoCon douchebag, and turned Hotlanta into a soulless, lifeless vacuum of money grubbing corporate thieves.

As for the worst schools in the state, I dare say that Cobb rates right down there with lower Alabama on that one - between the corrupt NeoCon school board which was run off (with my gladful assistance) in 1987, to the moronic stickers refuting evolution placed into every science book. Cobb is a backwater of closed minded, bible thumping hypocrites and inbreds of which you are a prime example.

As for ambulance chasers and pettifoggers, you had better take a closer look at Marietta and the corrupt bunch of hacks that park their black robed asses on the County Superior court and their corrupt brethren of the Cobb Bar before you start throwing stones in that area. I have a long and detailed list of corruption that occurs on a daily basis in THAT particular kangaroo court system.

And finally, Cobb County is the nexus of taxpayer fraud, and my equity has plummeted due to the overtaxation, overdevelopment, and environmental damage done by these bribe taking cronies who allow corporate builders to destroy the roads, existing neighborhoods, and local private businesses and then expect taxpayers to “take up the slack” for their avarice.

And finally, I have no desire to live in Atlanta, and in fact, I wouldn’t take a dump on this entire corrupt state - thank you very much.

As for the leech part, I have never collected a dime from any government agency, Federal, State or County. I have, however, paid out the ass for 45 years for corrupt politicians who burn out the locals who resist developers, coupled with eminent domain takovers, and a legal system that resembles a South American Banana Republic.

So run along and have a little circle jerk with your pals Newt Gingrich, JC Harrison, JB Stoner, and that crooked ass Perdue while they pick your pockets and ream your tight little buttocks without even the courtesy of a reach around.

    G’Night, troll.

  11. Buck Says:

Dr. Know, I take my hat off to you. Good job on handing “no” his ass on a platter!

  12. Dr. Know Says:

Buck, Aw shucks, it weren’t nothin’.

Actually, I was in a particularly bad mood, and don’t normally dignify such comments with rebuttal. But living here amongst the Red Staters has me a bit riled. They raise their women to be ignorant sperm depositories devoid of character development or personality (there is no one I would date), the schools are politically manipulated (wouldn’t send a goat to one), most of my neighbors are ignorant of both history and the ways of agitprop, and I can’t even go out a have a beer without driving 40 miles across town because I otherwise have to listen to unsolicited confessions akin to, “I’m a Republican and so was my daddy. It’s Jimmy Carter’s fault gas is $4 a gallon. That damned Jimmy Carter sold the Panama Canal to China. And Barak HUSSEIN Obama is a Secret Muslim Islamofascist that wants to steal our freedoms.”

    Wh.. wh… wh… WHAT?

It’s like meeting a horde of mindless drones who were cloned from some satanic coupling of Bill O’Reilly, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, and Joseph Goebbels every time I walk out the door.

But the worst part is, “no” was probably a drive-by troll who was cutting school, and will never even read the response, much less consider its veracity.

Correction: We ran off the NeoCon Cobb school board starting in 1989, not 87; for corruption, collusion, nepotism, cronyism, arson, etc. Yee-Haw, welcome to Dixie.

  13. Dr. Know Says:

And lest I forget, the most ironic part is that I’m a fiscal conservative. I’m tilting against many of the same issues “no” is — I just have far better aim.

  14. Buck Says:

Dr. Know, you would probably like reading John Cole.

It’s like meeting a horde of mindless drones who were cloned from some satanic coupling of Bill O’Reilly, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, and Joseph Goebbels every time I walk out the door.

For all their lies… For all the damage these bastards have done, and continue to do, to this country, why the hell can’t they be sued? Why the hell aren’t they drug into court and sentenced to length jails terms?

It’s easy to document their lies. Looks to me like all it would take is one citizen to say, enough is enough!

  15. Dr. Know Says:

I read a varying number of sources — I’ve added BJ to my list. As for the ignorance and propaganda, much of this is directly attributable to the “liberal press”. But the FCC (and the complicit Federal District Courts) now claim that news programs are not held to any standards whatsoever:
    Agitprop Revisited

  16. Buck Says:

Agitprop Revisited… So THAT’S how it all got started. I always wondered.

Sad, shitty world we live in.

Great blog you got there. The “Glenn Greenwald” of Cobb County. I blogrolled ya. You really should post more often. :-)
