Dick Armey Being a Dick

by QuestionGirl • Wednesday, January 28th, 2009 - 9:32 pm

Video: Dick Armey and Joan Walsh on Hardball. Very entertaining.

Armey: I’m so glad that you could never be my wife because I surely wouldn’t have to listen to that prattle from you every day.

He then went on to call her a political hack. Chris Matthews sits back and allows this. Not only does Dick Armey owe Walsh an apology, but so does Chris Matthews.

Matthews apologized to Walsh and for Armey a little later in the program. Check the tape!

"I just sit in the corner and make sarcastic comments periodically..."

    driouxcipher, great tag line! ;-)

Talk about projection by Armey there. He's always been a liar and an asshole. The only good thing I say about him is it took Dick Cheney to outrageously lie to him in private to support voting for the AUMF in 2002.

At Balloon Juice, John Cole posted a partisan fundraising e-mail from Armey - who here claims politics are silly.

A progressive tax code does actually help the economy, at least over the long term. See the New Deal up to Reagan, who slashed taxes on the richest Americans.

But back to that projection - "give it a rest?" "If you were my wife...?" "Prattle?" "Paid political hack?" What an asshole. When Chris Matthews has to apologize or at least acknowledge someone else's sexism, it's pretty damn bad.

Projecting was my first thought also. My question is, at what point does Obama decide to stop opening himself up to House GOP sucker punches and realize that at the same time he's also fracturing/dividing his own Party? The House Republicans couldn't dream up a better scenario. They get to satisfy their constituent base (getting re-elected in 2010, that's all they really care about) and also do damage to the opposition party, all with the help of the opposition party's leader. What happened to "I won." They can only act as saboteurs if you let them. When will you realize your bi-partisan efforts are really only putting more tools in their tool box? Come on Bama, you're smarter than that.

    Bro, EXACTLY!
