Rush Limbaugh To Obama: Our Way Or the Highway!

by Buck • Thursday, January 29th, 2009 - 3:43 pm

The nerve Rush Limbaugh has. And Obama will probably fall all over himself trying to accommodate the bloviating pig.

Remember back just a few short weeks ago when the word “bipartisanship” not only wasn’t uttered, thoughts of it set off fits of laughter? No republican, whether he be a politician, professional hate mongering pundit or just a regular, everyday Joe six-pack, has ever (during republican control, that is) entertained the notion of bipartisanship. That’s not made up. It’s a fact!

So now, if President Obama refuses to bend completely over and be screwed by John Boehner and company, then he should at least meet them halfway. Funny. I’ve never seen a man work so hard at trying to appease these jack-asses… before, during and after the election… and it’s still not enough for them. Barack needs to wise up to these borrow-and-spend, give-the-rich-a-break creeps. They’ve already put the rest of us in the poor house. Breaking America’s back is their intent, and we’re damn nearly there! Just say no to these shitheads.

Obama-Limbaugh stimulus plan?

That’s at least what the conservative talk radio host is proposing this week, first on his radio show Monday, and today in an Op-Ed in the Wall Street Journal.

Rush Limbaugh, who has sharply rebuked the president’s more than $800 billion stimulus plan and admonished congressional Republicans for not doing more to stop it, says Obama should make a “genuine compromise” with Republicans wary the bill doesn’t include enough taxes and calls for too much government spending.

Instead, Limbaugh proposes that 54 percent — about the percentage of the vote Obama won in the presidential election — of the stimulus bill go to the infrastructure spending the Democrats are proposing while the remaining 46 percent go to the tax cuts pushed by Republicans.

Genuine compromise, my ass! It’s 100% their way, or be prepared for a huge hissy fit. But, know this: they will eventually get their way. The big crybabies usually do. Milquetoast democrats will hand it to them.

With tax cuts for the wealthy, more will be able to buy those much needed corporate jets. Put the additional tax burden on the backs of the poor who would have foolishly used that money to buy health insurance for their family.

And as STUPID as that sounds, many of Rush’s listeners fit in that mold. What tools.

Feces-Smearing: Effective Or Not?

by Buck • Thursday, January 29th, 2009 - 12:02 pm

Well, he got what he wanted. It works for Rush Limbaugh and it worked out very well for the Bush administration. So, yes, I’d have to say it’s effective.

Man smears feces on his lawyer, flings it at jury

SAN DIEGO (AP) — A San Diego judge has declared a mistrial in a kidnapping and assault case after the defendant smeared excrement on his lawyer’s face and threw it at jurors. The judge boosted defendant Weusi McGowan’s bail from $250,000 to $1 million after the Monday incident.

Prosecutor Christopher Lawson says McGowan was upset because the judge refused to remove public defender Jeffrey Martin from the case.

McGowan had smuggled a bag of feces into court and spread it on Martin’s hair and face before flinging the excrement at jurors. No jurors were hit.

McGowan has pleaded not guilty to kidnapping for robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and other counts in connection with a 2007 home invasion.

Liberty City Six: Trial #3

by QuestionGirl • Thursday, January 29th, 2009 - 11:42 am

So how much money have we wasted on these trials, I wonder. These guys are guilty of one thing…..stupidity.

A video game engineer, a retired hospital janitor and a law school graduate who works as a money manager were in the first lineup of prospective Miami-Dade jurors in a homegrown terrorism trial that got under way on Tuesday.

The process of selecting a jury in the trial of the Liberty City Six — a half-dozen Miami men charged with conspiring to provide support to al Qaeda to blow up Chicago’s Sears Tower and several federal buildings — will be lengthy.

U.S. District Judge Joan Lenard will ask general biographical and terrorism-related questions of more than 200 jury candidates to determine their eligibility for the third trial of the six defendants.

Two previous trials ended with hung juries, because the panels could not agree on whether the men conspired with the global terrorist organization.

Lawyers for both sides will choose 12 jurors and six alternates for the trial, which is expected to last as long as two months.

The six defendants — a struggling group of construction laborers who tried to start a Liberty City religious group in a warehouse dubbed The Embassy — were arrested in June 2006. They were charged with conspiring to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization, destroy buildings — including the FBI’s Miami office — and break away from the United States.

Unemployment Benefits Hits All-Time Record

by Buck • Thursday, January 29th, 2009 - 10:44 am

Not a record to be proud of.

Our economy is still spiraling downwards, so I’m sure we’ll see this record get broker a few more times, at least. Is it too late to save us?

Americans receiving jobless benefits hits record

WASHINGTON (AP) — The number of people receiving unemployment benefits has reached an all-time record, the government said Thursday, and more layoffs are spreading throughout the economy.

The Labor Department reported that the number of Americans continuing to claim unemployment insurance for the week ending Jan. 17 was a seasonally adjusted 4.78 million, the highest on records dating back to 1967. That’s an increase of 159,000 from the previous week and worse than economists’ expectations of 4.65 million.

As a proportion of the work force, the tally of unemployment benefit recipients is the highest since August 1983, a department analyst said.

Dick Armey Being a Dick

by QuestionGirl • Wednesday, January 28th, 2009 - 9:32 pm

Video: Dick Armey and Joan Walsh on Hardball. Very entertaining.

Armey: I’m so glad that you could never be my wife because I surely wouldn’t have to listen to that prattle from you every day.

He then went on to call her a political hack. Chris Matthews sits back and allows this. Not only does Dick Armey owe Walsh an apology, but so does Chris Matthews.

A Note to the “Love Doctor”

by Batocchio • Wednesday, January 28th, 2009 - 7:44 pm

Oh my lord. Just watch:

Love Doctor, the term you’re looking for is “dap,” or “fist-bump,” or “fist tap”… Well, almost anything would have been better, even “respect knuckles” or the New York Times’ unintentionally hilarious “closed-fisted high-five.” (“Terrorist fist jab” remains some combination of wingnut fanaticism, bigotry and McCarthyism, however, and is unacceptable.) Look, it’s one thing not to be hip to the current lingo, but the term you used not only does not mean what you think it means, it did not exactly come into usage recently.

Love Doctor, heal thyself. Do read up on this one (Urban Dictionary gets pretty damn explicit), and, in the immortal words from Hamlet, “Taint not thy mind.”

(And yes, this is a terribly immature post.)
