Goddamn

I read the CNN headline regarding Dobson stepping down and screamed hallelujah! But, wrong… nothing has changed. Once you’ve reached the apex of ass-holery, you rarely step backwards. The only thing that will shut these snake-oil salesmen up is death (remember Falwell?)

I felt this particular post fit within our “Hate Merchants” category. After all, the man does make a living spreading hate.

Focus on the Family’s James Dobson steps down

(CNN) — James Dobson, the influential evangelical leader of the Christian ministry Focus on the Family, has stepped down as board chairman, he announced Friday.

During a meeting with employees, Dobson, 72, said the move means he will no longer be involved with the administrative side of the organization, according to spokesman Gary Schneeberger.

But Dobson’s public role isn’t expected to change. He’ll still appear on his daily radio broadcast and as an advocate for socially conservative issues, Schneeberger said.

“There won’t be a whole lot of difference,” the spokesman said. “You’ll still hear him on the radio. You’ll still see him on the networks like CNN with Larry King.

I thought I read a while back that the F on the F revenue stream was shrinking considerably.

Limbaugh has nearly cornered the idiot crowd. The religion of hate will have to come up with a new angle.

you are a pig and its people like you who are full of hate towards ANYONE who expresses their religion. shame on you

  4. Voice O' Reason Says:

Evelyn Shobin, your grammar is terrible. You are obviously stupid enough to support the hate-mongers. It is obvious to anyone with a brain that Dobson hates ANYONE who expresses an interest in any religion other than his own. How do you explain that?

  5. Buck Says:

Evelyn, wrong. I don't have any hatred for just "anyone" that expresses their religion. I just have hatred for a few well-known hatemongers who think of themselves as God's chosen.

Open your eyes, Evelyn, before it's too late. These hatemongers are leading you down the wrong path.

  6. Reality Says:

Dobson is making way too much money off of the benighted idiots he and his ilk have brainwashed over the years for him to really step aside. Now, he can devote his full effort to separating fools from their money. To Dobson, hate is a family value. It's very valuable to him, as it keeps his bank account growing. The scathing hatred and intolerance that he preaches has nothing to do with God. Indeed, he is an abomination to God.

Why is a Jewish guy the spokesman for a Christian organization - Schneeberger? LOL

  9. Buck Says:

Evelyn, let me guess, your fat ass is in church every Sunday... am I right? From the words that pour forth from your mouth and how you treat others, you MUST be a baptist. Come on, you can admit it!

An example of Evilyn expressing her religion.

Religions have always taught theirs is the only TRUE way, that said, ours is a country founded on the principals of tolerance and SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE.
What is disturbing about fundamentalists is their inability to follow the teachings of Jesus (or whoever) when it comes to tolerance.
People like Dobson are so filled not with Gods love but their own fears and prejudices that they work overtime to suppress anything and anyone that does not fit into their philosophy.
Rather than coming TO Jesus to rise above their fears they manipulate the Bible to justify their fears and use it as an excuse to attempt to force their opinions onto others, most often NON believers.
To me this is the worst corruption of religion possible.
Dobson is one of these people and he and those like him have never understood what makes this nation so great. They are truly UN-American.

  12. Buck Says:

    Merle, exactly right.

Picking and choosing which sins are deplorable and which are tolerated is clearly going against the teachings of God. God is supposed to be our one true judge, but you wouldn't know that if attended church every Sunday. Those people judge at the drop of a hat.

Religion should be welcoming, as God standing before his children with open arms... and not as a club to beat people about the ears.

They say that religious numbers are shrinking. Is there any doubt as to why?

  13. Scottie Says:

Yes Evelyn, we should allow these religious sorts to express their views and thoughts in a calm and dignified manner so that we may understand them better. Westbro Baptist Church is the pinnacle of tolerance. That would be a good place to start.
