Natasha Richardson (1963 – 2009)

Shockingly and tragically, Natasha Richardson is dead at 45. The Guardian, The Washington Post, The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times have preliminary pieces on her.
I’m more familiar with the work of her husband Liam Neeson and her mother Vanessa Redgrave, two of my favorite actors, but Natasha Richardson was good in everything I saw her in. This development is simply devastating. Condolences to her family and friends, and most of all to her two young sons in this difficult time.
Update: Fresh Air re-ran a good short interview with Natasha Richardson. She discusses trying to hide her famous pedigree when auditioning for drama school, and the traditional British versus Stanislavski approach to acting.
