A White House audio recording released on Tuesday shows that former President Richard M. Nixon — arguably the least popular Republican president in U.S. history and the only one to resign due to ongoing criminal scandals — was a supporter of legal abortion in certain circumstances … Like rape.
Or, interracial babies.

On Jan. 23, 1973, when the Supreme Court struck down state criminal abortion laws in Roe v. Wade, President Richard M. Nixon made no public statement. But privately, newly released tapes reveal, he expressed ambivalence.Nixon worried that greater access to abortions would foster “permissiveness,” and said that “it breaks the family.” But he also saw a need for abortion in some cases, such as interracial pregnancies.
“There are times when an abortion is necessary. I know that. When you have a black and a white,” he told an aide, before adding: “Or a rape.”

I am old enough to remember Nixon as VP to Eisenhower. No one cared for him then. I was out to lunch when he became prez. When I came back around I found out that he had the impeached ex-guv of MD Spiro Agnew as his VP. FISHY? You bet. The repukes shed crooks like a drowning dog shedding fleas. Are we seeing a re-run now? The crooks that were just ousted need to be prosecuted and not pardoned. When accountability becomes even handed then behavior will also. DUH! If you do the crime be prepared to do the time.
