The disease is spreading

      D-day     December 4th, 2006 - 1:45 pm

A public high school teacher lectures his history class that they will go to hell if they don’t accept Jesus. A student gives a recording of the lectures to school administrators — who defend the teacher. The community turns against the student. This is not happening in Missouri or Oklahoma, but in Hudson County, New Jersey, a quick commute from Manhattan.

Peace is Satan’s domain!

DENVER - A homeowners association in southwestern Colorado has threatened to fine a resident $25 a day until she removes a Christmas wreath with a peace sign that some say is an anti-Iraq war protest or a symbol of Satan.

I guess in parts of Colorado, the carol goes like this:
War on Earth
Hatred towards men

Is this part of the War on Christmas or do these jackasses not know “the true meaning of Christmas”?

Who will write the history?

      D-day     November 28th, 2006 - 12:33 pm

There is an old addage that says history is written by the victors, so with that in mind you would think history would be severely harsh to President Bush, wouldn’t you? Well not if his supporters have their way. Apparently, according to them, history is written by whoever can raise half a billion dollars.

Bush is attempting to raise $500 million to build his library and a think tank at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Bush fund-raisers hope to get approximately $250 million from what they call “megadonations” of $10 million to $20 million each.

Bush allies feel they need enormous funds to shape how history views Bush’s legacy. A Bush insider said, “The more [money] you have, the more influence [on history] you can exert.” Much of the money will be used to build a “legacy-polishing” institute:

With winter coming up (it’s gettin’ cold around here) I thought I’d go with a nice classical piece. Gil Shaham doing Vivaldi’s Winter from Four Seasons.

adopting pets

      D-day     November 16th, 2006 - 11:11 am

Pets: They bring happiness to your life. They offer unconditional love and happiness. If you can, I highly reccomend getting yourself as many pets as you think you can handle. I got these kittens from a feral colony nearby where I used to live. They were four weeks old and likely would not have survived the winter on their own. Now they are eight weeks and happy as can be.
I have paid out almost $200 in vet bills but they are so worth it! Going to a local animal shelter or contacting your local Humane Society is a great way to give a loving animal a home. Often they have already been treated for various ailments and you can avoid the vet bills I had. Don’t wait! Do it today!

(this is my first youtube video! It’s so easy to do)

My favorite band of the 90’s (or at least one of them) Smashing Pumpkins.
This was their farewell song as it were. The last song off their last album.
It is untitled.

Lieberman wants to be called a democrat

      D-day     November 10th, 2006 - 12:56 pm

With the election over and Democrats now positioning themselves for chaiperson’s roles in Senate and House committees. Joe Lieberman wants to make sure his independant run and victory against Ned Lamont, doesn’t leave him out in the cold.

With the Democratic takeover of the Senate, Lieberman is in line to become chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

In a post-election news conference, Lieberman said he was reassured by Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid that he would retain his seniority when the new Senate convenes.

Article here.

The question now becomes: Can he be trusted with those committees? For many Democrats, Lieberman is a DINO (Democrat in name only) and has been closer to the Bush administration than fellow Democrats. With the recent election clearly showing dissatisfaction with the Bush administration and it’s failed policies, it could be a risky venture on Senator Reid’s part to trust Lieberman with such responsibilities, especially on security matters where Lieberman has been such a strong ally of the Bush administration.
On the other hand, there is this: With a slim 51-49 majority in the Senate for the Democrats, the battle for Lieberman’s soul as it were is on. Republicans are largely responsible for his re-election and have thus staked a claim. Democrats want him to remain (officially at least) in their column and shutting Joe out would in all liklihood convince him to make his leap to the darkside complete.
So I ask the BH readers: Should Reid let Lieberman keep his seniority and run those committees or risk losing him all together to the Republicans? For my part, I don’t envy Reids position but I think he is doing the right thing and Democrats have to bite the bullet and mend fences with Lieberman. To do anything else could cost them majority power.

BREaking news!!
