This idiot thinks Barack Obama should be disqualified from running for President. This idiot says that Katie Couric didn’t ask enough issue-based questions. She really is dumber than a sack of hammers.
You know she had to feel right at home with that FOX interview though:
Palin calls Obama comment ‘reckless,’ criticizes Couric
(CNN) — Sarah Palin said Friday several of Barack Obama’s comments about the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan have been “reckless” and disqualify the Illinois senator for consideration as the next commander-in-chief. [...]
“Some of his comments that he has made about the war…I think, in my world, disqualifies someone from consideration as the next commander-in-chief,” Palin told Fox News Friday. “Some of the comments he’s made about Afghanistan, what we are doing there, supposedly just air-raiding villages and killing civilians — that’s reckless.” [...]
Palin also commented Friday on her widely-panned series of interviews with Katie Couric, telling Fox interviewer she did not think the CBS News anchor asked enough issue-based questions.
“I did feel there were a lot of things she was missing in terms of an opportunity to ask what a VP candidate stands for, what the values are that are represented in our ticket,” Palin said. “I guess I have to apologize for being a bit annoyed, but that’s also an indication about being outside that Washington elite, outside that media elite also, and just wanting to talk to Americans without the filter and let them know what we stand for.”
America’s “Stupid Quotient” appears to be on the rise, again. Some have long said it’s directly related to the “Good Ol’ Boy” phenomenon. Now it appears we’re seeing the “Hockey Mom” effect.
It’s always been there but in numbers small enough to ignore. Then along came George Bush. The SQ-index surged and hovered near the 50% range during the 2000 elections, dropped off a little, then climbed back up into that area again during the elections of 2004.
But, in recent months, those numbers have shrunk down into the low-30’s range. Were people finally waking up? A feeling of glee swept the land. Then along came Sarah Palin:
(CNN) — A national poll of people who watched the vice presidential debate Thursday night suggests that Democratic Sen. Joe Biden won, but also says Republican Gov. Sarah Palin exceeded expectations.
The CNN/Opinion Research Corp. said 51 percent of those polled thought Biden did the best job, while 36 percent thought Palin did the best job.
But respondents said the folksy Palin was more likable, scoring 54 percent to Biden’s 36 percent. Seventy percent said Biden was more of a typical politician.
Both candidates exceeded expectations — 84 percent of the people polled said Palin did a better job than they expected, while 64 percent said Biden also exceeded expectations.
On the question of the candidates’ qualifications to assume the presidency, 87 percent of those polled said Biden is qualified and 42 percent said Palin is qualified. (emphasis mine)
36 + 54 + 84 + 42 = 216 / 4 = 54%
With those numbers, it looks like the SQ-index has surged back up. Lord help us.
Two points I’d like to make here. One is that, ever since the tragedy of p/11, along with a Bush presidency, it’s clear that police forces around the country have dropped their “to protect and to serve” logo for the new, more fitting “we’re going to fuck you up!” one.
Hey, America…. still happy with the choices you made in 2000 and 2004?
Point two; Jeremie, a commenter to our “Colorado’s Personhood Amendment” post, says that “Separation of Church and State” is something that doesn’t exist in the US Constitution.
Jeremie obviously wants to toss democracy out the window in favor of a theocracy. I suppose he’d rather have 74 year-old Tony Alamo running the country. (Would they still call it a country, or would it become a compound?)
Evangelist’s compound raided in child abuse case
(CNN) — Federal and state police raided an evangelist’s compound in Arkansas late Saturday to investigate whether any children have been physically or sexually abused, officials said.
The raid is part of a two-year investigation into a compound near Texarkana, Arkansas, owned by Tony Alamo Christian Ministries, said Bill Sadler of the Arkansas State Police. About 100 agents were on the 10- to 15-acre site late Saturday and met with no resistance, he said. [...]
“It’s a hoax,” Alamo said. “They’re just trying to make our church look evil … by saying I’m a pornographer. Saying that I rape little children. … I love children. I don’t abuse them. Never have. Never will.”
So much room for corruption - so little oversight. Isn’t it about time we ran the Church out of the country?
Teh uber stupidity - it burns my eyes and brain.
Just received the following email:
Subject: Are you a Democrat, Republican, or Redneck?
Here is a little test that will help you decide:
You’re walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children.
Suddenly, an Islamic terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you.
You are carrying a Glock automatic pistol, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family.
What do you do?
Democrat’s Answer:
Well, that’s not enough information to answer the question!
Does the man look poor! Or oppressed?
Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?
Could we run away?
What does my wife think? What about the kids?
Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out ofhis hand?
What does the law say about this situation?
Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it?
Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children?
Is it possible he’d be happy with just killing me?
Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me?
If I were to grab his knees and hold on , could my family get away while he was stabbing me?
Should I call 9-1-1 ?
Why is this street so deserted?
We need to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day and make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.
This is all so confusing!
I need to discuss with some friends over a latte and try to come to a consensus.
Republican’s Answer:
BANG!
Redneck’s Answer:
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click….(sounds of reloading) BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! click….
Daughter: ‘Nice grouping, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver Tips or Hollow Points?’
Son: ‘You got him, Pop! Can I shoot the next one?’
Wife: ‘You are not taking that to the taxidermist!
AND THAT’S WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THE SOUTH.
Oh, yeah… those rednecks sure are a witty bunch!
Sarah Palin seems to think she’s at the top of the ticket:
(HT: Bat)
Just read an opinion piece by The Wall Street Journal’s Bret Stephens. It’s apparent he contacted the brain fart disease in a big way:
If nothing else, the media meltdown over Sarah Palin’s candidacy for the vice presidency has exposed the not-unsuspected truth that, when it comes to historical ignorance and political amnesia, our cultural panjandrums are in a class by themselves.
On the Charlie Gibson - Sarah Palin interview, Mr. Stephens offered this:
Gibson: “Do you agree with the Bush doctrine?”
Palin: “In what respect, Charlie?”
Which was a sensible answer, given that no higher authority than Jacob Weisberg of Slate has counted six versions of the thing (including “absence of any functioning doctrine at all”). Further pressed on the subject, Gov. Palin explained that “what President Bush has attempted to do is rid this world of Islamic extremism,” which better sums up the gist of Bush policy than Mr. Gibson’s cramped definition of the doctrine as “anticipatory self-defense.”
Bret goes on to equate Palin’s experience to that of Calvin Coolidge, Teddy Roosevelt and Harry Truman. (I know, Jesus H. Christ!) Then, by rubbing his palms together vigorously, Mr Stephens rolls this tiny ball of snot up tightly like so:
Maybe. But as a man who knows whereof he speaks recently observed, “You can argue that nobody is ready to be president. You can argue that even if you’ve been vice president for eight years, that no one can be fully ready for the pressures of the office.”
Wise words, and historically true. If even Bill Clinton can offer such a benediction to an inexperienced candidate, surely Mrs. Palin’s critics can do so as well.
It should be noted that Wall Street Journalists, (much like Limbaugh, Hannity, O’Reilly and other FOX personalities), aren’t paid for honesty. They’re paid by spinning lies to resemble truths. If it’s wrapped up into neat little packages, below-average intelligence Americans are more likely not only to buy it, but to also pass that info on along to family and friends as truths. Just look back over the last two presidential elections at how well that as worked!
The only panjandrum I see in this room is Bret Stephens.
This from someone who has homes in both London and New York… and a husband named ‘Evelyn’.
The gall! Looks like an endorsement of no consequence to me. Lynn Forester de Rothschild can afford four more years. Take the bitch’s money and passport away, and see if she has a change of heart then!
Has her ass been thrown off the DNC’s Platform Committee… or are they going to pander to her like they do that treasonous Joe Lieberman?
Prominent Clinton backer and DNC member to endorse McCain
Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee, will endorse John McCain for president on Wednesday, her spokesman tells CNN. [...]
“This is a hard decision for me personally because frankly I don’t like him,” she said of Obama in an interview with CNN’s Joe Johns. “I feel like he is an elitist. I feel like he has not given me reason to trust him.”
Forester is the CEO of EL Rothschild, a holding company with businesses around the world. She is married to international banker Sir Evelyn de Rothschild. Forester is a member of the DNC’s Democrats Abroad chapter and splits her time living in London and New York.
Calling Obama an elitist is code for your obvious racism, Mrs. Rothschild. Next time you fly off to London, mind staying the fuck there? We fought that war once already. But, it would be fun to stomp your ass into the ground again!
Oh, there are much dumber people out there (think “Palin”, think “average republican voter”). But it sure looks like Luskin is working overtime to take over the lead.
I wonder if he’s still defending this loony article in light of this morning’s Wall St. shakeup?
Quit Doling Out That Bad-Economy Line
(”Depression Bread Line” At The FDR Memorial; Photo By Frank Johnston — The Washington Post)
“It was the worst of times, and it was the worst of times.”
I imagine that’s what Charles Dickens would conclude about the current condition of the U.S. economy, based on the relentless drumbeat of pessimism in the media and on the campaign trail. In the past two months, this newspaper alone has written no fewer than nine times, in news stories, columns and op-eds, that key elements of the economy are the worst they’ve been “since the Great Depression.” That diagnosis has been applied twice to the housing “slump” and once to the housing “crisis,” to the “severe” decline in home prices, to the “spike” in mortgage foreclosures, to the “change” in the mortgage market and the “turmoil” in debt markets, and to the “crisis” or “meltdown” in financial markets.
It’s a virus — and it’s spreading. Do a Google News search for “since the Great Depression,” and you come up with more than 4,500 examples of the phrase’s use in just the past month.
But that doesn’t make any of it true. Things today just aren’t that bad. Sure, there are trouble spots in the economy, as the government takeover of mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and jitters about Wall Street firm Lehman Brothers, amply demonstrate. And unemployment figures are up a bit, too. None of this, however, is cause for depression — or exaggerated Depression comparisons.
Voting with your dick. How intelligent is that?
Men’s support gives Palin edge in latest poll
When it comes to support for Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, a new national poll suggests men and women don’t see eye to eye.
The gender gap is also apparent when it comes to whether Palin is qualified to serve as president. Fifty-seven percent of male respondents said Palin was qualified, 14 points higher than women. A majority of women polled, 55 percent, said Palin is not qualified.
Overall, 50 percent of all respondents think Palin is qualified to serve as president, compared with 70 percent who see the Democratic nominee for vice president, Sen. Joe Biden, as qualified.
I’m confused. Could someone explain these numbers to me? If 50% respondents think Palin is qualified, as compared to 70% for Biden… then how the hell could McCain/Palin be polling ahead of Obama/Biden?
Are we to take presidential and vice-presidential contenders for their word? This from Sarah Palin:
I’ve honestly answered the questions on what my personal views are on things like abortion and a lot of controversial issues. I won’t hesitate to answer those questions about what my personal views are, but I am not one to be out there preaching and forcing my views on anyone else.
Don’t anyone alert Kevin Dobson to this revelation. Mrs. Palin might quickly lose her appeal to Christian conservatives.
Palin keeping her word and not forcing her views onto others isn’t being very realistic. She forced her religious views onto the small town of Wasilla as mayor, she did so to the state of Alaska as governor, she’ll continue doing so to the rest of us from the White House.
So if she’s elected, and speaks in tongues at her swearing in ceremony, just remember - you asked for it!
Palin’s former pastor, Tim McGraw, says that like many Pentecostal churches, some members speak in tongues, although he says he’s never seen Palin do so. Church member Caroline Spangler told CNN, “When the spirit comes on you, you utter things that nobody else can understand … only God can understand what is coming out of our mouths.”
Some Pentecostals from Assembly of God also believe in “faith healing” and the “end times” — a violent upheaval that they believe will deliver Jesus Christ’s second coming.
Her and McCain both already speak in tongues… forked tongues, that is!
The following list of books are the ones Sarah Palin had banned (for roughly three months) from the local library. She also threatened to have the librarian fired for “refusing to honor the request of the Mayor.” How God damn sick is this? What the fuck is wrong with her?
Palin, on the Grapes Of Wrath:
The book is full of filth. My children are being raised in a good Christian home and this book takes the Lord’s name in vain and has all kinds of profanity in it. How am I able to teach my daughter proper morals: when this book, she is able to get her hands on it and read it…giving her bad ideals about the proper way to conduct herself?
The next logical sequence of events would involve the burning of bodies, right?
The list:

MSNBC.com asks: What do you think of Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., as Barack Obama’s choice for his running mate?
Not everyone is happy. Those who had high hopes of having Hillary Clinton picked as VP are particularly upset:
- should have picked Hillary!! - starfish-441002
- He needed a more high profile candidate, with a strong political standing. Like hilorey clinton. sorry he lost my vote. - pa democrat
- I am VERY disappointed in selection of a dated establishment insider instead of someone who would bring meaningful change to DC. - S Smith-441025
- As a Hillary Clinton supporter this makes it even easier to vote for McCain. - Marilyn-441043
- I am a Hillary Democrat and he lost my vote. This one of 18 million won’t be voting for the ticket. he should have picked Hillary!! - txforhillary
- HILLARY SHOULD HAVE BEEN HIS CHOICE IF MR. OBAMA INTENDS TO WIN… - NEW YORK HILLAR SUPPORTER - D. WEBBER
Are these people those republicans that Rush Limbaugh commanded to screw up the democratic voting process, or a bunch of whiners that would rather see the great American project come to an end if they can’t have their way?
Crybabies: They’re not just in the republican party any more.
Just now got the following in an email.
I suppose if I shot off an email stating that Larry the Cable Guy sleeps with little boys, I’d quickly find myself on the nasty end of a lawsuit. But, yet, he and his fellow religious-right republicans have no qualms lying their heads off just to convince people not to vote for Obama.
It’s a damn shame they have to make shit up just to get their way. Isn’t this how your typical twelve-year-old acts?
I don’t care who you are or what you believe in, this is funny.

Barack Obama, the lead Presidential Democratic Party candidate, is for
banning all guns in America . He is considered by those who have dealt
with him as a bit more than just a little self-righteous.
At a recent rural elementary school assembly in East Texas , he asked
the audience for total quiet. Then, in the silence, he started to
slowly clap his hands once every few seconds, holding the audience in
total silence.
Then he said into the microphone, ‘Children, every time I clap my hands
together, a child in America dies from gun violence.’
Then, little Richard Earl, with a proud East Texas drawl, pierced the
quiet and said: ”Well, dumb-ass, stop clapping!’
…there’s an all-white jury involved.
I would love to be the principal of this school. If this boy wins the case on retrial, I would be resolute to let the children wear whatever the hell they wanted to. And if that makes some parents mad, then they can be reminded of this:
Confederate flag lawsuit ends in mistrial
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A federal judge in Knoxville has declared a mistrial in a teenager’s free speech lawsuit over a dress code that banned him from wearing Confederate flag clothing.
The all-white jury deliberated about 13 hours but was unable to reach a unanimous verdict in the case of 18-year-old Tommy DeFoe.
Judge Tom Varlan dismissed the jury Friday.
DeFoe’s attorneys said they would like a new trial.
DeFoe’s lawsuit contends his rights were violated by an Anderson County schools dress policy that bars the flag from student clothing.
DeFoe’s attorneys are arguing for free speech. Fine. I’d like to see people show up for the next trial wearing shirts that display black men pissing on the confederate flag. I bet that would go over quite well!
Some republicans do so in order to have the weaponry available to kill, among other things, offending democrats:
N.C. man accused of threatening Barack Obama
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Authorities say a North Carolina man will undergo a psychiatric evaluation after being jailed on a charge of threatening to kill Barack Obama.
Federal documents identified the man held Friday as 48-year-old Jerry M. Blanchard. A criminal complaint says witnesses overheard Blanchard twice last month threatening to kill the presumptive Democratic nominee. [...]
Separately Thursday, a 22-year-old man in Florida made a court appearance in Miami on charges he threatened to assassinate Obama. That man also has denied making threats against Obama.
Surely you’re familiar with the recent church shootings in Knoxville, TN? A republican nutcase thought it was time a bunch of democrats should die. So he entered a church known for it’s tolerance for gays and opened fire.
And this is the party most Christians gravitate towards.
