Obama to Be On O’Reilly Show

Here’s the teaser. And here’s the reason why Obama agreed to be on Fox. Scottie sent me this article and I have been meaning to get it out here, but alas, I’m a DFH and never got around to it. Thank you Scottie!

On Hillary: If You Weren’t Sure Before…

Then maybe THIS will convince you:

Clinton Slams Obama’s Ex-Pastor on Fox

BlueHerald ImageIn excerpts of an upcoming interview with Fox’s Bill O’Reilly, Hillary Clinton says that incendiary remarks made by the Rev. Jeremiah Wright were “offensive and outrageous.” Wright, Barack Obama’s ex-pastor, recently praised Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan and said the U.S. created the AIDS virus to harm blacks.

“I think that he made his views clear, finally, that he disagreed. And I think that’s what he had to do,” Clinton said in an interview with Fox News commentator Bill O’Reilly. The network released excerpts of the taped interview ahead of its airing Wednesday night.

It was the former first lady’s first appearance on the O’Reilly show, the most popular Fox News program and a staple of conservative media. Over the years, O’Reilly has been a staunch critic of both the New York senator and her husband, former President Bill Clinton.

Know this: Hillary’s appearance on O’Reilly’s program was NOT to make points. Given the forum, the host and, most importantly, the audience, that would be impossible. No. Her appearance was to help cut Obama down a few more notches.

If you disagree, then I have something for you to ponder. If Hillary’s appearance had been obscured, her image grayed out and her voice masked, would you really have thought O’Reilly was interviewing a democrat?

Bill O’Reilly: Low Class Asshole

We’re sorry we had to have that little confrontation, but no one on this earth is going to block a shot on The O’Reilly Factor. It is not going to happen.

-Fox News talk show host Bill O’Reilly

Oh, it’ll happen, Bill! Just a matter of time. Having a fist jammed down your throat is gonna happen too. Most probably in the very near future. You’ve gotten just a tad bit too big for your britches and you’re rubbing way too many people the wrong way.

Yep, you’ll get yours. And please, God, let there be a camera rolling when it happens!

(CNN) - Fox News talk show host Bill O’Reilly had a confrontation with a staffer for Barack Obama’s campaign that the aide and several eyewitnesses claim became physical.

The incident began when O-Reilly tried to get Obama’s attention after a Nashua campaign event. He allegedly began yelling at Obama’s National Trip Director Marvin Nicholson to get out of the way. O-Reilly then, according to eyewitness accounts, shoved the staffer.

Nicholson told CNN O’Reilly grabbed him by the arm and started “pushing” him. Nicholson also said that when he asked O’Reilly to stop pushing him, the talk’show host responded that he was “low class.”

Fox Snooze looking for ratings help

from Media Bistro

“Anchorwoman” to Join O’Reilly

Lauren Jones, the bikini model-turned anchorwoman is making her TV debut a couple of nights Jones_8.20.jpgearly. The controversial Fox reality show “Anchorwoman” premieres Wednesday night, but Jones will be a guest on The O’Reilly Factor tonight.

B&C’s Michael Malone writes about the show, and how it caused quite a dust-up in Tyler, TX. Cameras followed the former WWE diva during a 30-day try-out at the CBS affiliate. But, as Malone writes, even the president of the company that owns Tyler’s Fox affiliate is outraged: “They’re making a mockery of the news department.” “We’ll run Anchorwoman, but I have reservations” said Sheldon Galloway, president of White Knight Broadcasting.

And here’s kicker: “Jones attracted new viewers that stuck around and may help ratings when July Nielsen sweeps numbers arrive soon.”

Every Day Is Falafel Day!

Opinionated pundit Bill O’Reilly… what a joke. Idiots and morons have to have an idol.

If any woman ever breathed a word I’ll make her pay so dearly that she’ll wish she’d never been born. I’ll rake her through the mud, bring up things in her life and make her so miserable that she’ll be destroyed. And besides, she wouldn’t be able to afford the lawyers I can or endure it financially as long as I can. And nobody would believe her, it’d be her word against mine and who are they going to believe? Me or some unstable woman making outrageous accusations. They’d see her as some psycho, someone unstable. Besides, I’d never make the mistake of picking unstable crazy girls like that.

-Falafel king & FOX network’s finest, Bill O’Reilly
You would basically be in the shower and then I would come in and I’d join you and you would have your back to me and I would take that little loofa thing and kinda’ soap up your back … rub it all over you, get you to relax, hot water …. and um … you know, you’d feel the tension drain out of you and uh you still would be with your back to me then I would kinda’ put my arm — it’s one of those mitts those loofa mitts you know, so I got my hands in it … and I would put it around front, kinda’ rub your tummy a little bit with it, and then with my other hand I would start to massage your boobs, get your nipples really hard … ‘cuz I like that and you have really spectacular boobs….

So anyway I’d be rubbing your big boobs and getting your nipples really hard, kinda’ kissing your neck from behind … and then I would take the other hand with the falafel (sic) thing and I’d put it on your pussy but you’d have to do it really light, just kind of a tease business…

-Falafel king & FOX network’s finest, Bill O’Reilly

These are fun! (Maybe we should do one of these very day?)

Much thanks to Daily Kos & The Smoking Gun!

Bill O’Reilly is at it again. Gosh, it Must be close to a ratings period

from The Center For American Progress

On Monday night, Fox News host Bill O’Reilly aired a segment full of misleading, inaccurate claims attacking the upcoming YearlyKos blogger convention, its namesake DailyKos, and one of the event’s sponsors, JetBlue. In his “report,” O’Reilly cherry-picked an extreme minority of reader comments and diaries from the hundreds of thousands on DailyKos, claiming them to be representative of the community website and the greater netroots movement that will be gathering in Chicago from Aug. 2-5, 2007 for the progressive convention. Calling the netroots “the radical left” and DailyKos “hatemongerers” like “the Ku Klux Klan” and “the Nazi Party,” O’Reilly compared YearlyKos to “a David Duke convention,” calling it “one of the worst examples of hatred America has to offer.” O’Reilly’s segment, which has been latched onto by his ideological allies in the conservative blogosphere, is an attempt to discredit a movement that “each day” is having “more impact” on America’s political discourse while “helping to renew our democracy.” O’Reilly’s pre-emptive attack on the convention is a testament to the fact that the netroots are not a “nutroots” fringe movement as critics would like to characterize it, but rather a snapshot of energized progressive activists agitating for change in America.

MYTH OF THE ‘CRUDE,’ ‘ANGRY,’ ‘CRASS’ FRINGE: The shoddy journalism of O’Reilly’s YearlyKos hit piece is not the first time the progressive blogosphere has been the target of disingenuous attacks labeling it “the radical left.” After several Democratic presidential candidates backed out of Fox News’s debates due to the news channel’s ideological bent, O’Reilly attacked the grassroots activists who agitated for the pullout, calling them a “radical movement” that uses “propaganda techniques perfected by Dr. Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi minister of information.” Searching through two years of Washington Post articles, media writer Eric Boehlert could find just one profile of a progressive blogger. The article — “The Left, Online and Outraged” — portrays My Left Wing blogger Maryscott O’Conner as “a Bush-hating lunatic,” using such key phrases as “angry,” “rage,” “fury,” “angriest,” “outrage,” “crude,” “loud,” “crass,” “inflammatory,” “attack.” As Boehlert notes, the Post’s profile of prominent conservative blogger Michelle Malkin was “a Valentine’s Day week mash note, presenting Malkin as a pugnacious, on-the-rise pundit who has her liberal critics up in arms.” In reality though, the image of progressive bloggers as “unhinged,” as Malkin describes them, is just a myth. The make up and politics of the netroots are actually quite mainstream.

O’Reilly Figures Out The Vast Left-Wing Conspiracy

Fox News Channel’s pillar of truth, Bill O’Reilly has added some spiffy new charts to this story. He’s accusing George Soros of vast left-wing media buying to spread his message about far left politics and smearing the lives and careers of the Righties. (What’s so familiar about this?) Hmm. Could it be the G.O.P.’s smear campaigns during election times? Surely they’re as honest as Saint Teresa.

Color Commentary

(Cross-posted at Vagabond Scholar)

Wider_Color_Bar.jpg

To continue The Chart Project, despite all those rightwing charges about a “liberal media,” it seems fairly rare to see true “liberals” on mainstream television. It’s pretty common to see a strident, hardcore rightwinger paired with a moderate and relatively civil, measured Democrat. This may be partially due to most news outlets- corporate ownership, which tends by its nature to be establishment or bourgeois (to resurrect a seldom-used term in the States). This also may be because the United States has grown more conservative in bent in the last fifty years or so, at least in self-perception and by self-identification (although on actual policy issues, Americans tend to lean liberal). There’s also no major socialist party in the United States, unlike many other industrialized nations, but more to the point, America lacks programs such as universal health care that are common in many foreign major players on the world stage.

Of course labels such as “liberal” and “progressive” are contentious, and can mean different things to different people, even in a single country. Plus the “hawk” versus “dove” divide, as contentious as those terms are as well, is probably a more important dichotomy than any other currently in American politics, even though it’s often ignored, obscured, or just poorly covered by most of the mainstream media, who think almost exclusively in Democrat-Republican terms (as covered in “The Chart That Explains It All!” ).

There’s also an inherent flaw with a spectrum like this, even though it gives more nuance to the normal binary oppositions of Democrat-Republican and liberal- conservative. For example, a one-dimensional scale like this doesn-t allow the flexibility of a two-dimensional grid that considers both social and economic liberalism/conservatism:

Dan Rather Vs. Bill O’Reilly Ding Ding

On the 11/17 Bill Maher show on HBO, Dan Rather mentioned that FOX News
uses talking points that decidedly favored the policy from the White House.

And then on the 12/18 Joe Scarborough program on MSNBC they had a discussion
on the feud that is brewing with Bill O’Reilly challenging Dan Rather to
show the evidence of such a political slant.

So be on the lookout for the brewing feud to be fueled by Billo’s ego and
lots of half-truths from O’rly.

No cheating and looking at this page!!!

H/T JoeWo for this sending in this post!!

This Man Is Gainfully Employed?

O’Reilly declared that “secular-progressives” want “out-of-wedlock birth in the USA” to be “at record highs”

BlueHerald ImageOn the November 27 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, The Radio Factor, host Bill O’Reilly highlighted an upcoming segment of the program on “wins” and “losses” in the “culture war” by claiming “out-of-wedlock birth in the USA [is] at record highs, which the S-Ps [secular-progressives] want.”

BILL O’REILLY TEACHES EX NATO COMMANDER ABOUT POLITICS

I swear, if Bill O’Reilly and former NATO Supreme Allied Commander Wesley Clark were in the same room Billo should be removed because he is just using the oxygen that the General could use. Maybe Clark will teach Bill a few things as he is on next week…maybe not. Clark also talks about George Soros.

AL SHARPTON DEBATING BILL I’M ON THE HIT LIST O’REILLY ON VOTER ID

Al Sharpton debating Bill O’Reilly over Voter ID’s. Why is Bill soooooo angry?

Let me tell you a little story about ID’s. In Florida, you cannot get a driver’s license or state ID card without a birth certificate or passport. You cannot get a birth certificate anywhere without knowing your mother’s maiden name. (Believe me, some people don’t know their mother’s maiden name.) In Cleveland, you can’t get a copy of your birth certificate without knowing, not only your Mother’s maiden name, but what hospital you were born in. I could go on and on about photo id’s. This voter ID issue has nightmare written all over it. And that’s all I have to say about that……
