You probably remember my post last Sunday regarding Tony Alamo, the 74 year-old evangelist visited by federal and state police on charges he may have physically or sexually abused children. Mr. Alamo had said, “They’re just trying to make our church look evil.”
Who’s the evil one now, Tony?
Evangelist arrested in child porn case
(CNN) — Evangelist Tony Alamo was arrested Thursday in Flagstaff, Arizona, on charges related to a child porn investigation, an FBI spokesman said.
The 74-year-old founder and leader of Tony Alamo Christian Ministries was arrested without incident at 2:45 p.m. (4:45 p.m. ET) as he was departing the Little America Hotel with his wife, said Manuel Johnson, spokesman for the FBI in Phoenix, Arizona. [...]
Alamo was charged under a federal statute with having knowingly transported a minor across state lines with the intent to engage in sexual activity, Johnson said.
Alamo, whose real name is Bernie Hoffman, was taken to Coconino County Jail in Flagstaff, where he is to have an initial appearance Friday in federal magistrate court, Johnson said.

Christian conservatives sure like voting in those perverts!
Seems only fair, right? Just ask Louisiana Sen. David Vitter or Idaho Sen. Larry Craig.
Florida to close Foley investigation, sources say
(CNN) — The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will close a criminal investigation into former U.S. Rep. Mark Foley on Friday without filing charges, two law enforcement sources said Thursday.
Authorities were investigating whether Foley might have used computers in Florida to engage or solicit minors in any illegal activities. [...]
But the agency said the House of Representatives had blocked efforts to review files on computers Foley used in his congressional office. Smith said the agency was working with the FBI and Foley’s lawyers to review the contents of those computers, which are federally owned.

Interior Department officials, while handling billions of dollars in oil and gas royalty payments, engaged in illegal sex with industry employees and accepted meals, drinks, ski junkets and golf outings from major oil companies, internal investigators reported Wednesday.
Interior Department Inspector General Earl Devaney’s release of three reports, which stem from a $5 million investigation dating to 2005, implicated at least 19 current and former employees of the Minerals Management Service in incestuous relationships with industry, frolics that included marijuana and cocaine use.
The reports raised new concerns about the management of programs that collect $8 billion in annual revenue from offshore and onshore mineral leases.
Devaney said that his investigators had “discovered a culture of substance abuse and promiscuity” in the recently created “Royalty in Kind” program, in which the government forgoes royalties and takes a share of the pumped oil and gas for resale. Several of the program’s staffers, based in Washington and Denver, “admitted to illegal drug use as well as illicit sexual encounters.”

Stormy days ahead for The Weather Channel?
Weather Channel In Sex Storm
TWC Anchors Bob Stokes & Hillary Andrews
On block, cable network seeks cloak on anchor harassment details
MAY 6–As The Weather Channel’s owner negotiates a multibillion-dollar sale of the cable outlet, the network’s lawyers are angling to keep secret the details of a blistering arbitration ruling in favor of a former anchorwoman who charges that she was subjected to unrelenting sexual harassment by her male co-anchor, who was “romantically obsessed” with her and frequently made crude remarks like, “Will you lick my swizzle stick?” Hillary Andrews, 38, contends that the cable network’s brass turned a blind eye to the harassment because her co-anchor, Bob Stokes, was popular with viewers and scored high ratings. According to recent court filings, Andrews won her arbitration case three months ago and the final ruling was “highly critical of conduct by both Stokes and TWC management.” The network is now seeking to keep details of the arbitrator’s 17-page report secret, while Andrews wants to publicly file the document in a lawsuit she has brought against the 50-year-old Stokes in a Georgia state court.
Good grief.

This is CNN? Kinky!
CNN personality Richard Quest was busted in Central Park early yesterday with some drugs in his pocket, a rope around his neck that was tied to his genitals, and a sex toy in his boot, law-enforcement sources said.
Quest, 46, was arrested at around 3:40 a.m. after a cop spotted him and another man inside the park near 64th Street, a police source said.
The criminal complaint against Quest said the park was closed at the time - something Quest should have known because of all the signs saying “Park Closed 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.”

Torn because I really do not know how I’m supposed to feel about this. My first impulse was to have the bum thrown from office. But then I remembered Senators Craig and Vitter, and how they’re retaining their seats.
What are we supposed to think?
Detroit Mayor Charged With Perjury
DETROIT (AP) — Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, a one-time rising star and Detroit’s youngest elected leader, was charged Monday with perjury and other counts after sexually explicit text messages contradicted his sworn denials of an affair with a top aide.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy also charged the popular yet polarizing 37-year-old mayor with obstruction of justice and misconduct in office.
Kilpatrick’s lawyer, Dan Webb, predicted that the mayor would be exonerated on all charges and said he has recommended to the mayor that he not resign.

Paterson: Campaign ‘Might Have’ Paid for Hotel Tryst
NEW YORK, March 20 — Gov. David A. Paterson has admitted he might have billed a hotel tryst with his lover to his campaign, listing the expenditure as “constituent services,” adding fuel to New York state’s continuing sex scandal.
The New York Daily News wrote Thursday that an investigation showed that Paterson occasionally used campaign funds to cover personal expenses and misreported the purpose of that spending. The newspaper said he generally reimbursed the campaign for those charges.
Paterson acknowledged in an interview with the Daily News that he might not have reimbursed at least one payment.
Some argue it’s hard work. Others disagree. Digging ditches is hard work, they say. Either way, these people BEGGED for these positions. And what do they do once they obtain them? They abuse them. And I’m sick and tired of it.

“Restroom enthusiast Senator Larry Craig said today the only reason he plead guilty to that incident in the Minneapolis airport bathroom was because he was being hounded by reporters investigating rumors that he was gay. And what better way to shoot down those rumors, really.”
-Jay Leno

Why can’t they just let Sen. Craig have a walk on this? Do they not realize just how instrumental he has been at keeping gays down? For you see, a bigot makes for a great republican senator. And a lying, hypocritical bigot is, well, just as nice.
Embattled senator Craig files appeal over guilty plea in sex sting
WASHINGTON - Lawyers for Sen. Larry Craig asked a Minnesota appeals court Tuesday to allow him to withdraw his guilty plea stemming from his June arrest in a public bathroom sex sting, citing a “grave procedural flaw.”
The Idaho Republican argues that a state law related to his misdemeanor conviction is unconstitutional and that it “manifestly unjust” not to allow the lawmaker to be given another chance to prove his innocence.
A state judge refused on October 4 to allow the senator to withdraw his earlier plea. Judge Charles Porter ruled the plea “was accurate, voluntary and intelligent, and … supported by the evidence.” Craig had earlier promised to resign if the judge ruled against his motion, but he changed his mind and vowed to stay in office until his term expires in early 2009. He is not seeking re-election this year.

‘Shenanigan’ is probably not the best word to use here, especially considering we’re talking about minors. But props to Sen. Cantwell for taking the appropriate action in this case. Wish we could say the same thing for the republican side of the aisle.
Senate aide arrested in sex sting
WASHINGTON - A former aide to Sen. Maria Cantwell is in federal custody after being arrested on a charge of attempting to sexually exploit a minor.
James Michael McHaney was fired Friday from his job as a scheduler for Cantwell, D-Wash., hours after he was arrested by FBI agents. The FBI said in a charging document that McHaney allegedly tried to set up a meeting with an undercover witness posing online as a teenage boy.
[...]
“Late Friday afternoon the FBI informed our office that a Senate employee was arrested. The employee was immediately fired. Our office has and will continue to fully cooperate with the ongoing federal criminal investigation. Senator Cantwell has zero tolerance for crimes against children,” Meehan said.

While looking around tonight to see what the word is on Lott’s resignation here’s what’s out there. When I heard of his resignation it really surprised me, because after being kicked out of the top Republican leadership 4 years ago, he REALLY fought to get back to the top. I couldn’t imagine he would just give that up for no good reason. Maybe THIS is the good reason.
From Atrios on 11/25:
Larry Flynt, editor and publisher of Hustler magazine, just told FOX Business Network’s Neil Cavuto that he’s “hoping to expose a bombshell” that will stand “Washington and the country on its head.” Within the next week or two, he says his magazine will expose a sex scandal of huge proportions involving a prominent United States Senator. Flynt refused to comment on the Senator’s political affiliation, but alluded that he or she is a Republican.

Trent Lott Fallout: The Gay Escort Who Knew Too Much
Monday November 26th, 2007 5:35 PM by BHDC Staff
Filed under: Scoops, Gay, Trent Lott
Once upon a time, there was a twentysomething boy-next-door type with reddish blond hair and a brilliantly white smile. Not one to shy away from attention, he wrote a blog called “Fifteen Minutes,” and also became a freelance writer for various publications, including The Stranger in Seattle. He-d often focus on his non-traditional lifestyle as a gay male escort - a topic that often fascinated his readers, which, in turn, helped him to garner a substantial amount of powerful business acquaintances through the years.
Based in San Antonio, he would travel all over the world to meet his clients, which included high profile celebrities, businessmen and even politicians in the United States Congress.
Sometimes within his writings he-d give advice on how other males could become successful escorts. Other times he-d post videos of himself flexing on YouTube. Once, he even scolded gay escort Mike Jones for outing Rev. Ted Haggard as one of his gay escort business participants.
“You were paid for sex, Mike,” he wrote in 2006. “The most important rule you can follow when taking people’s money in exchange for sex is that-no matter what-their lives stay their own and whatever passes between the two of you remains private. Period.”
Many of his clients greatly appreciate his professionalism. In fact, according to one 66-year-old patron who reviewed him on a gay escort site, he is “a very reliable escort who keeps you informed.”
The boy happens to be real, and his “stage name” is Benjamin Nicholas. One of the politicos Big Head DC has learned he’s alleged to have been involved with is the married Sen. Trent Lott, 66, who unexpectedly announced his retirement on Monday. Lott is well-known to have been against a plethora of gay rights issues throughout his terms in Congress. He was also good friends with Sen. Larry Craig throughout his time in Congress.
Nicholas told Big Head DC today via e-mail that he didn-t want to go on the record to talk about his dealings with Lott, because, said Nicholas, “Trent is going through his fair share of scrutiny right now and I don-t want to add to it.” However, e-mail and other records confirm that the two have met on at least two occasions.
“All I can say at this point is no comment,” Nicholas told us. “It’s the professional thing for me to do.”
In a subsequent e-mail message, Nicholas confirmed that another publication is working on a story about a “possible relationship” between Lott and himself, but Nicholas also “politely declined” an interview for that story.
“As I said before, Lott has quite a bit on his plate right now and I don-t really want to add fuel to the embers,” Nicholas told Big Head DC.

Larry Craig has nothing on this guy. Rev. Gary Aldridge was discovered asphyxiated in his home, hogtied and dressed in two rubber diving suits on June 24th. They went looking for him when he didn’t show up to church on a weekend when his wife was out of town. While the cat’s away the perverts will play. This death reminds me of the death of millionaire Edouard Stern, who was found dead in Switzerland, his body covered from head to toe in latex, a dildo in his ass and 4 bullets in his body.
In the case of the Rev, he was found with, in the words of the coroner:
The decendent is clothed in a diving wet suit, a face mask which has a single vent for breathing, a rubberized head mask having an opening for the mouth and eyes, a second rubberized suit with suspenders, rubberized male underwear, hands and feet have diving gloves and slippers. There are numerous straps and cords restraining the decedent. There is a leather belt around the midriff. There is a series of ligatures extending from the hands to the feet. The hands are bound behind the back. The feet are tied to the hands. There are nylon ligatures holding these in place with leather straps about the wrists and ankles. There are plastic cords also tied about the hands and feet with a single plastic cord extending up to the head and surrounding the lower neck. There is a dildo in the anus covered with a condom.
Talk about a rubber fetish. The police say there was no foul play and the Rev. was by himself when he died. Ok…..how do you tie yourself up like that without any help? Just askin……..
I wonder if he learned this in a class at Liberty University?
Another hypocritical Christian rightwing nutcase. I wonder if he got off before he died. I sure hope so……that’s alot of work to go through and have no payoff.

All right! I hear you snickering at the above headline. But SOMEBODY actually got paid to write it. - JS
WASHINGTON, Sept. 6 - The political and personal drama of Senator Larry E. Craig took another turn today as a spokesman for the Idaho Republican said the senator has all but abandoned the notion of trying to finish his term.
“The most likely scenario, by far, is that by October there will be a new senator from Idaho,” Mr. Craig’s chief spokesman, Dan Whiting, told The Associated Press.
Mr. Whiting said the senator would try to complete his term only if his guilty plea for disorderly conduct in connection with a sex sting can be voided by Sept. 30 and if the Republican leadership agrees to restore Mr. Craig to the committee leadership posts from which he was recently ousted.
Legal experts have said Mr. Craig’s chances of getting his guilty plea set aside are slim, and the senator’s prospects of getting his committee posts back would seem all but impossible, given Republican leaders- eagerness to see Mr. Craig exit public life.
It was not immediately clear if Mr. Whiting’s comments this morning reflected a new sense of pessimism, or reality, by Mr. Craig, and what might have prompted the senator to shift his stance since Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Mr. Craig took new steps to clear his name in Washington and in Minnesota, where he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct. Mr. Craig’s efforts, including a suggestion that he might not resign at the end of the month as he had announced, infuriated Republican Senate leaders who thought they had contained the political damage from his case.
In a sign of how quickly his colleagues have turned against him, the Senate Ethics Committee on Wednesday swiftly rejected a request by Mr. Craig’s lawyers to dismiss the complaints against him, and Republican leaders moved to fill his leadership positions on three committees.

BOISE, Idaho - Idaho Republican Sen. Larry Craig will resign from the Senate amid a furor over his arrest and guilty plea in a police sex sting in an airport men’s room, Republican officials said Friday.
Craig will announce at a news conference in Boise Saturday morning that he will resign effective Sept. 30, four state GOP officials told The Associated Press, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Word of the resignation came four days after the disclosure that Craig had pleaded guilty to a reduced misdemeanor charge arising out of his June 11 arrest during a lewd-conduct investigation at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
The three-term Republican senator had maintained that he did nothing wrong except for making the guilty plea without consulting a lawyer. But he found almost no support among Republicans in his home state or Washington.
Idaho Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter appeared Friday to have already settled on a successor: Lt. Gov. Jim Risch, according to several Republicans familiar with internal deliberations.

Florida’s top police agency said Wednesday its investigation into former U.S. Rep. Mark Foley’s lurid Internet communications with teenage boys has been hindered because neither Foley nor the House will let investigators examine his congressional computers.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says it hopes to conclude its investigation next week. Foley, a Florida Republican, resigned from Congress on Sept. 29 after being confronted with the computer messages he sent to male teenage pages who had worked on Capitol Hill.
“We have requested to review federally owned computers that Mr. Foley used during his time as a representative, but the U.S. House of Representatives … cited case law restrictions that prohibited them from releasing those computers,” said Heather Smith, an FDLE spokeswoman.
Smith said that the House claims the computers are considered congressional work papers, and that only Foley can release them for review.
